The Beginning of Everything! The Truth About Azmuth
Within the Omniverse Gap, inside the teleportation portal.
Jiang Li, holding Gwen's hand, stepped into the blue portal that exuded the scent of cherry blossoms.
They were supposed to appear on the streets of the Shuchiin Academy in Tokyo the next second.
But just as the two stepped out of the portal...
"Buzz--!"
The [Omnitrix] on Jiang Li wrist suddenly emitted a very peculiar mechanical beep. This beep wasn't an alarm, but rather a piece of extremely ancient, low-level Galvan Prime original code.
The Sakura Street in front of me instantly vanished into a sky full of data streams.
Instead, there is a huge metal laboratory filled with extremely cool colors, countless floating holographic screens, and ultra-precise instruments.
Here there is no gravity, no conventional laws of physics, only pure science and truth.
"Have the spatial coordinates been hijacked?"
Gwen immediately became alert, Silk -shooter popped out from her wrist. Having just experienced the high-dimensional battle, she was now on high alert for any unexpected situation.
"Take it easy."
Jiang Li patted Gwen's hand reassuringly, his gaze sweeping over the magnificent laboratory. He wasn't angry about the hijacking of the teleportation; instead, a smile appeared on his lips.
"It's not a hijacking. Someone placed a higher-dimensional 'signal receiver' at the endpoint of our teleportation. Only one person in the entire universe can do this."
Jiang Li lowered his head and looked at the Omnitrix on his wrist.
"Right? The smartest brain in the entire universe."
You are indeed remarkable, Earthling.
An extremely old voice, filled with arrogance and temper, came from behind the control panel in front.
Immediately afterwards, a giant alien, only a few centimeters tall, with green skin and a frog-like head, walked out from behind a huge holographic screen with its hands behind its back.
Azmuth, the true creator of the Omnitrix, is Galvan.
"Azmuth." Jiang Li looked at the inventor with the most eccentric temper in the original work and nodded slightly.
"Nice to meet you. However, I don't like it when others arbitrarily change the navigation coordinates I set."
"That's because you modified my underlying code without authorization, rendering the watch's 'warranty terms' completely worthless!"
Azmuth, her eyes wide with anger, jumped onto the control panel and pointed at Jiang Li's wrist.
"You unlocked the master control, rewrote the gene lock, and even forcibly muted [Alien X]'s personality protocol! Do you know how many times those two Celestialsapien complained to me in that dark room?!"
Hearing Azmuth's complaints, Jiang Li couldn't help but chuckle.
"I simply optimized the user experience. And it turns out my changes were very successful."
"Hmph, you barely passed."
Azmuth snorted coldly, but a very subtle hint of admiration flashed in his eyes.
He waved his hand, and two floating chairs rose from the center of the laboratory, gesturing for Jiang Li and Gwen to sit down.
"I stopped you today not to investigate your illegal modification of equipment, but because the commotion you caused in the Omniverse Gap was too great. The erasure of the Beyonders by you was not part of my initial calculations."
Azmuth, with his hands behind his back, watched as the holographic screen began to scroll through footage of Jiang Li's arrival in the Marvel Universe, the DC Universe, and various Multiverse, culminating in his Beyonders.
"So, you've been spying on me all this time?" Jiang Li leaned back in his chair, his eyes flashing slightly.
"No, I'm just observing my work."
Azmuth shook his head. "Jiang Li, have you always thought that the Omnitrix appearing in front of you back then was just an extremely lucky coincidence?"
Jiang Li didn't speak, but just looked at him quietly. This was also a question that had always been on Jiang Li's mind.
"Ben Tennyson is a destined hero. In countless parallel universes, this watch will eventually be on his wrist. It's an extremely solid 'causal loop'."
Azmuth sighed and pulled up an extremely complex Multiverse map.
"But the problem is, this Omniverse isn't just about Ben Tennyson's story."
On the screen appeared Marvel's Infinity Gauntlet, DC's Anti-Monitor, and even the Beyonders from earlier.
"The boundaries of the Multiverse are constantly colliding and merging. The power of those higher-dimensional beings, gods, and mad creators from other dimensions could disrupt the balance of the universe at any moment. Ben Tennyson's law of causality cannot cover these unknown dimensions."
Azmuth looked directly into Jiang Li's eyes.
"I need a variable. An 'abnormal data' that doesn't belong to this closed loop and isn't controlled by any predetermined path of fate."
Azmuth's words left Gwen speechless with shock.
Looking at the holographic map in front of him, Jiang Li finally understood.
"So, from the very beginning, you locked the landing coordinates on the dial onto me, a transmigrator with Soul Stone?"
"That's right."
Azmuth readily admitted, "You are the most perfect variable I have calculated in the Omniverse."
Azmuth leaped and hovered in front of Jiang Li.
"I didn't control you, nor did I give you any tasks. I simply handed you the tools. And you, in the simplest and most brutal way, wiped out all those madmen and gods who tried to disrupt the balance of the universe."
"Well done, Jiang Li."
This Galvan in the entire universe, nodded to Jiang Li with utmost seriousness.
"You didn't get lost in the power like Mad Ben, nor were you Time Devouring like the Clockwork. You proved that my choice was right."
Upon hearing Azmuth's admission, Jiang Li glanced down at the watch on his wrist.
"Now that the truth has been revealed, can you let us go on vacation?" Jiang Li crossed his arms.
"A vacation is fine. But before that, there's something I must formally hand over to you."
Azmuth turned around, and an extremely exquisite green Crystal box slowly rose from the center of the control panel.
The box was opened.
There were no weapons inside, nor any new alien genes.
There was only a single, extremely pure ball of green light, seemingly containing the very laws governing the birth and death of the entire universe.
"What is this?" Jiang Li could sense that this ball of light contained no aggression, but it possessed extremely terrifying low-level authority.
"[Omniverse Root Node Key]."
Azmuth looked at Jiang Li with a serious expression.
"Although you've cracked the dial, that only grants single-user access. Now, I'm handing you the ultimate administrator key to the entire Omniverse dimensional network."
Azmuth pushed the ball of light toward Jiang Li's watch face.
"From this day forward, you are no longer the watch's tester. You are the sole and highest-ranking 'Punisher' in this Omniverse."
"No matter which Daily Universe you go on vacation to, as long as this Omniverse experiences a fundamental crisis that even I cannot resolve..."
Azmuth paused.
"I hope you can turn this dial again."
