Feng Xun VS Yuan Wu

Yuan Wu had never seen this move before. Facing the Feng Xuns around him, each with a different expression, he furrowed his brow.

Before he had time to think further, Yuan Wu tentatively threw out a kunai.

However, to Yuan Wu's surprise, the ninja tool neither struck Feng Xun nor shattered the suspected clone illusion.

Instead, it passed straight through the afterimage, as if there had been nothing there to begin with.

So it isn't a clone. Could it be genjutsu?

A massive roar rang out. Feng Xun's afterimages vanished one after another, and although he successfully avoided a fatal hit, his shoulder was still struck by the lightning.

The intense pain made Feng Xun's body convulse. It took a long while before he recovered, but his strength had been greatly reduced as a result.

Yuan Wu stared at Feng Xun's pain-filled face in surprise. He had never expected the boy to still be able to hold on.

"I never expected you to still be standing. You're clearly just a brat under ten, yet you've got quite some backbone."

"If you can let me go now, I think I'd be honored to hear your praise." Feng Xun grinned through the pain covering his body and continued, "But I'm curious. How exactly did you break my Afterimage Technique?"

Yesterday, we talked about why Konoha fought with Amegakure. Next, let's talk about Amegakure's defeat, as well as a few things involving Amegakure and Iwagakure after that defeat.

First of all, as everyone knew, Amegakure was defeated by Konoha. But this defeat did not refer solely to military force; to a greater extent, it referred to the resources of the two nations.

Speaking of military strength, aside from the ordinary cannon-fodder ninja, Hanzo possessed the greatest combat power on Amegakure's battlefield. Even the later Sannin could only barely fight him to a draw at the time.

But the Land of Rain behind Amegakure and the Land of Fire behind Konoha were clearly not on the same level.

The Land of Fire was vast and rich in resources, with springlike weather throughout the year and abundant food supplies. The Land of Rain was small and sparsely populated, plagued by endless rain year-round and suffering from insufficient food production.

So in Old Cat's view, rather than saying Konoha ultimately defeated the Rain Ninja, it would be more accurate to say that Konoha wore the Rain Ninja down through a war of attrition.
