Background and History
Chi Tong transmigrated into the Chitong family while retaining memories of his previous life. By age three, he had concluded that he was in a different world after noticing his crimson hair and heterochromatic eyes, traits shared in part with his crimson-haired mother. 1
A transparent halo appeared in his mind from birth. During his childhood, he developed extraordinary learning speed and photographic memory, becoming known within his family as a genius prodigy while remaining notably humble. 2 When the halo filled and burst after eight years, Chi Tong gained the talent associated with Akashi Seijuro and encountered Ren Ying, a cold second personality who claimed that both of them were Chitong Lingyu. 2 3
His first serious basketball game came after Muye challenged him at school. Chi Tong defeated Muye 5–0 through overwhelming drives and steals, then joined the elementary-school basketball team. He soon became captain and led the team to three consecutive national championships. 4 5 6
At twelve, Chi Tong entered Saint Radiance Middle School, primarily because of its basketball facilities. He joined as a point guard, rapidly earned a place in the starting lineup, and became a central organizer alongside Sendoh Akira. 7 8 10 During middle school, he repeatedly resisted Ren Ying’s insistence that strength alone should control the team. 13 16
The pressure of his conflicting personalities came to a head during the tournament against Bright Marsh. Ren Ying took control during the game, displaying a far colder, more solitary style and causing Chi Tong’s teammates and coach to notice that something was wrong. 20 22 23 Chi Tong later left the basketball club for a year to resolve the instability between his two selves. 29 33
By age sixteen, Chi Tong had grown to 185 cm and 79 kg and found a temporary balance with Ren Ying. The two personalities each retain half of the body’s dominant control, allowing Chi Tong to switch between their playstyles without losing strength. 33 He then joined Ryonan High School’s Basketball Club, declared his intention to win the championship, and became captain after defeating Uozumi in a one-on-one challenge. 34 43
Appearance
At sixteen, Chi Tong has a well-proportioned but explosive build, short crimson hair, and a composed aristocratic bearing. His unusual eyes and periodic oppressive aura make him immediately recognizable. 6 33
- Hair: Short crimson hair. 6
- Eyes: Heterochromatic; his left eye is reddish gold and his right eye is crimson. 1
- Height and weight: 185 cm and 79 kg at age sixteen. 33
- Presence: Usually calm and refined, but can project a regal, chilling pressure when using his abilities or adopting Ren Ying’s mindset. 2 20 42
Personality
Chi Tong is unusually mature, restrained, and analytical for his age. Despite being praised as a prodigy from childhood, he avoids complacency and approaches both learning and basketball as skills requiring continued work. 2 6 He prefers organized teamwork and initially rejects Ren Ying’s belief that he should rule teammates through raw strength. 13
He dislikes situations beyond his control, a trait intensified by both his dual personality and his inherited basketball talent. Under pressure, he can become cold, intensely assertive, and willing to take over a game by himself when he believes his teammates cannot deliver. 7 19
Following his year-long hiatus, Chi Tong becomes more balanced but also more imposing. As Ryonan’s captain, he is direct, efficient, and focused on results rather than seniority; however, he does not strictly punish minor issues unless they affect the team’s performance. 33 44 45

- The technique is limited by his physical development during his earlier years. 6

- Its activation causes crimson-gold rings of light to appear in his eyes. 20
- Opponents experience intense fear, hesitation, and pressure while facing him. 20 21
- It was used against Bright Marsh when his normal scoring run could not close the gap. 19 20
- Its mental-energy cost makes it a risky option. 20
Physical Ability
Chi Tong’s growth substantially improves his explosiveness, speed, and vertical leap. 33 35
- At high school, he can contest Uozumi at the opening tip despite Uozumi being ten centimeters taller. 35
- Coach Taoka considers his explosiveness and jumping ability close to elite high-school level. 36
- Earlier in life, insufficient height and jumping ability prevented him from completing a dunk. 6
Photographic Memory and Learning Ability
Chi Tong can retain details after seeing them once and learns academic material with exceptional speed. 2
- Learned enough Japanese for simple conversations within three years of transmigrating. 2
- Consistently ranked first at school before committing to basketball. 3
