Chen Wangu served as the Sect Master of Shushan Sacred Land, a position that made him one of the foremost figures in the Central Great Tang. His cultivation was considered unfathomable even by Shushan’s Grand Elders, and his reserved presence commanded the sect’s complete respect. 326 328

After Xu Qing comprehended the Grand Scripture of the Sword and obtained the Progenitor’s Legacy in the Shushan Buried Sword Mound, Chen Wangu met him at the end of the Nine-Colored Stairway. Recognizing Xu Qing’s unprecedented aptitude and affinity with Shushan, he offered to accept Xu Qing as his Personal Disciple. Xu Qing accepted after Chen Wangu promised to settle the matter with Xu Jingtian, Xu Qing’s first master. 327

Chen Wangu formalized the relationship through a Disciple Acceptance Ceremony attended by representatives of five Holy Lands. He then challenged the Dark Forbidden Zone again. After fighting for a hundred years, he killed the Dark Dragon King and carried its head back to the Xuanhuang Realm. Rather than absorb the Dragon King’s Immortal Origin for himself, Chen Wangu sacrificed it to the realm, bringing forth Divine Spirit Rain that benefited its inhabitants. 373
