Background

Tang Tian summons Wesker while accelerating Umbrella's G-virus research. At the Stark Expo, Wesker serves as one of Tang Tian's guards, but has not yet received his later viral enhancement. 15 16

Before Umbrella's expedition to the Planet of the Apes dimension, Dr. William injects Wesker with the Progenitor Virus F mutant strain and an initial enhancement serum. He joins the five hundred serum-enhanced troops as a security operative. 19

Tang Tian later sends Wesker to a Nazi concentration camp to secure samples from Sebastian Shaw, Erik, and Erik's mother. The mission becomes Wesker's first major battle and the basis for his promotion within Umbrella. 24 25 27
