Lu Ren explored Wang City and a devastated otherworld, where he met the last survivor, Chen Luo, and confronted an Outer God’s influence. He destroyed the corrupted scripture at Hangu Pass and returned to Earth as he prepared for the coming return of Shakya and Laozi, then reconnected with Chen Han.

• Lu Ren traveled with Lin Shu to Wang City, learned about its entry fee and alternate cultivation path, and declined the Armored Guardian’s challenge while investigating its power.
• Lu Ren returned to Earth, confirmed Ji Quanzhen’s transformation and increased strength, and learned that a stable passage led to a devastated world.

Lu Ren uncovered the Shangjing Sect’s death order, destroyed its leaders and sleeping predecessors, and then entered Wang City seeking a path to greater power. He began fighting in the Battle Arena, where the promise of an opportunity involving the Supreme One awaited the victor of one hundred matches.

• Chen Han tried to kill Lu Ren under the Shangjing Edict, but he defeated her, uncovered the abuse she had suffered, and destroyed her cultivation after removing the restriction on the Primordial Origin Sutra.
• Lu Ren entered the Kunlun Otherworld and attacked Jade Capital Mountain, where he battled Li Chengxu and learned that the Shangjing Sect had ordered his death.
• Lu Ren killed Li Chengxu and resisted a warning from the Celestial Worthy of Primordial Beginning, then discovered that the Bronze Cauldron was one of King Yu’s Nine Cauldrons.
• Lu Ren and Wen Liangong dropped a hydrogen bomb into the Jade Capital Secret Realm, destroying the Shangjing Sect’s sleeping predecessors and earning Lu Ren Force of Destiny and Skill Points.
• After telling Chang'e that he had destroyed the Shangjing Sect, Lu Ren traveled to Wang City, where Lin Shu explained that its cultivation methods could help him advance without becoming a Mad God.
• Lu Ren bested Lishi at the gate and entered Wang City, then learned that the Battle Arena’s ultimate victor could make a request of the Supreme One.
• Lu Ren chose the arena name Jinfu, killed Blade with a single blow, and agreed to keep fighting after the host promised that one hundred victories would reveal the Supreme One’s opportunity.

Lu Ren defeated Shakya and helped China survive the worldwide contamination of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy, using the Nine Cauldrons to begin purifying it. He then freed Sun Wukong to search for the remaining cauldrons, and the two entered a strange realm where Lu Ren rejected an offer to return to the immortal path.

• Lu Ren won one hundred Battle Arena matches, recognized Guo Muyang as his former disciple, and found the Tali Body Forging Art before returning to practice it.
• Lu Ren refused Ao Li’s offer and began cultivating the Tali Body Forging Art, while Shakya revealed he had fused with Li Er and was coming to Earth.
• Lu Ren warned China of Shakya’s arrival, but the first wave of polluted spiritual energy transformed life across the globe before Shakya dragged Lu Ren into battle.
• Lu Ren killed Shakya by destroying his True Immortal Dao Fruit, then helped contain the mutations and organize relief as China suffered immense casualties.
