Outside Hogwarts Castle, Harry and the other two had already sneaked up to the skylight of Snape's office, quietly waiting for Kane to crawl back out through it wearing the Cloak of Invisibility.
But after waiting for a while, they realized that nothing had come out of the window—other than the smell of Snape's potions from inside the office.
Just as they were wondering whether Kane had been caught stealing by Snape and the enraged professor had stuffed him into a cauldron to stew, the person they had already sentenced to death in their minds appeared behind them.
"What are you all doing squatting here with your asses sticking up?" Kane asked Harry and the others in confusion.
Harry and the other two, thoroughly startled by his voice, also let out a sigh of relief. Kane was alive. Thank goodness, thank goodness.
"By the way, what are you doing squatting here?" Kane asked.
"Of course we came to meet you. But did you come out that early?" Hermione said.
"Oh, I didn't leave through here. I used the front door of Snape's office."
As soon as Kane finished speaking, Hermione raised an eyebrow. "The... front door?"
"Yeah, let's go. I got the thing back, and I need to hurry back to bed and rest for a while. I thought you'd gone to the Quidditch pitch, so I walked myself half to death making a lap around it."
As he spoke, Kane urged the three of them to hurry back to Gryffindor Tower. Those who needed to brew potions could brew potions, and everyone else could do whatever they needed to do.
A lovely Saturday ended comfortably just like that. Then, at the same time and the same place on Sunday, Kane crawled into Snape's office through the same skylight again.
