Background / History

Harry lived with the Dursleys alongside Kane. When Kane ran away, Harry defied Vernon Dursley to search for him, then pursued him into an alley and tried to bring him home. Harry believed that food and shelter mattered more than escaping the Dursleys' emotional abuse; Kane disagreed and used shadow creatures to blind him and escape. Harry vowed to become strong enough to make Kane regret leaving. 1 2

Professor McGonagall later delivered Harry's Hogwarts letter. During her inquiry into Kane's disappearance, Harry provided the clothes bearing Kane's residual shadow magic, helping establish that Kane was alive. 8

Harry reunited with Kane at the Leaky Cauldron while shopping for Hogwarts supplies. He immediately attacked him, but Kane restrained and defeated him with shadow magic. Despite their volatile reunion, Harry chose Kane's friendship over the newly met Weasley family and later paid for Kane's school supplies and custom wand. 11 13

Personality

Harry is fiercely loyal to Kane. His first response to Kane's disappearance was to search for him, and his anger at being left behind became a drive to confront him directly.
