Soon, as two differently colored magical fireworks shot into the sky and exploded, Kane sat in the Quidditch stands with most of Gryffindor.

Unlike the other restless Gryffindor students, Kane leaned back in his seat with complete composure and pulled out the toffee he had swiped from Dumbledore's office earlier.

He had confidence in his craftsmanship and confidence in Harry's broom. The only thing he was not so confident about was the physical toughness of the Slytherin players.

What if they couldn't take a hit?

While Kane pondered what fate awaited the Slytherin students, the students around him began to cry out in alarm.

The reason was that the players on the Quidditch pitch had already begun taking off.

Contrary to everyone's expectations, the highest-flying, fastest, and most recklessly charging player in the entire stadium was not one of Slytherin's Nimbus 2001 riders, but Harry.

When the Slytherin players saw Harry riding some off-brand broom they had never even seen before, they thought he had completely given up. They had assumed he had accepted defeat and swapped his broom for some old feather duster.

That way, when he lost, he could argue that he was not bad at flying; his broom was simply inferior to theirs.

But when Harry truly took off and accelerated, they realized he had indeed given up—but not in the self-destructive sense. He had chosen a mutually assured destruction kind of giving up.

This brute-force acceleration was so absurd it was shocking. Who knew where Harry had found a high-displacement broom engine, chopped down a stick in the Forbidden Forest, and jammed it onto the thing?

Did that comply with broom safety laws? Did it have emergency brakes? Emergency evasive maneuvers? Force-field deflection?

Thinking about that made the Slytherin team feel a little better.
