"Um... was that enough?" Kane asked quietly.
"Yes, I think that explained things quite well. Shouldn't we award Mr. Heath some points? Ten points should do." Dumbledore said with delight on his face.
"Hogwarts students really could be so mischievous." Professor McGonagall sighed, then looked at Hermione. "Miss Granger, Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley said Mr. Heath came looking for you. So what were you doing here? Were you off on an adventure alone, or were you locked in here for some unknown reason? Were you being bullied?"
Professor McGonagall could hardly be blamed for asking. Ever since Hogwarts had been founded, the girls' bathroom could be said to have had the highest death rate of any place in the castle. From the distant, nameless ancient ghosts to Moaning Myrtle more recently, every one of them spoke of the resentment and bitterness of the Hogwarts girls' bathroom.
And now, Hermione had somehow ended up playing hide-and-seek with a Troll in the girls' bathroom again. If Kane had not been here, it would have been hard not to add another bloody girls' bathroom case to Hogwarts's history.
"So, Miss Granger, did any other students or professors lure you into this bathroom, or directly lock you inside?"
Hermione hurriedly shook her head. She had only come here to secretly shed a few little pearls. Her roommates all knew about this place too, but they should not have been capable of letting a Troll into Hogwarts. Besides, they were not that kind of people.
"Then the matter should be quite clear now. It was nothing more than a coincidence. Minerva, go call the students out. The Halloween feast will continue."
Dumbledore had everyone else leave first, while he remained behind to repair the bathroom that the Troll had smashed to pieces.
