Dumbledore took out two bottles of soda, one red and one clear, in the Headmaster's Office. "Pepsi or Coca-Cola?"
Kane considered for a moment. "Iced Coke."
Dumbledore: "...Okay."
Soon, a glass of ice-cold Coke was placed in front of Kane.
"Ah, overall, you wrapped things up very well. Neither you nor Harry was hurt. Harry would probably wake up tomorrow morning, and Quirrell died quite thoroughly," Dumbledore remarked.
"It wasn't exactly good," Kane said, raising a brow. "If the plan had gone smoothly, Quirrell wouldn't have exploded."
Dumbledore looked at Kane encouragingly, and Kane did not keep anything back.
"If the plan had gone smoothly, Quirrell and... Tom would both have been pulled through that door. But in the end, it turned into an explosion."
"And?" Dumbledore asked patiently.
"So Tom had some way of keeping himself from leaving this world. Of course, I don't know whether that counted as a method or a restraint," Kane explained.
"Mm."
Dumbledore leaned back in his chair, unconsciously rubbing his hands together. "Would you mind telling me how you knew those things? Mainly about that door, of course."
Kane pursed his lips and glanced down at the Eye Bone in his hand. After thinking it over, he decided there was no need to tell Dumbledore a secret like the Eternal Realm.
The two remained deadlocked for less than ten seconds before Dumbledore suddenly laughed. "Don't mind it, Kane. I was being presumptuous this time. After all, we've known each other for less than a year, and more importantly, everyone has their own secrets. It was rather rude of me to pry, wasn't it?"
Kane nodded. "It was."
"I thought you'd give me a way out," Dumbledore said with a wry smile.
"Then should I apologize?"
Dumbledore waved a hand. "Please don't. So, is
