Background / History

Sasuke was born as the younger son of Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha and grew up beneath the reputation of his older brother, Itachi. Though his mother cared for him patiently, his father’s expectations and constant comparisons to Itachi left Sasuke feeling overlooked. His life changed when he witnessed Itachi massacre the Uchiha Clan, including their parents; he thereafter dedicated himself to reviving the clan and killing his brother. He is also identified as the reincarnation of Indra Ōtsutsuki’s chakra. 596 620

At the Ninja Academy, Sasuke ranked first and later joined Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno on Team 7 under Kakashi Hatake. Initially cold and reluctant to cooperate, he gradually demonstrated concern for his teammates: he shared food with Naruto during Kakashi’s test and shielded Naruto from Haku’s attack. 596 601 663

During the Chūnin Exams, Orochimaru placed the Heaven Cursed Seal on Sasuke.
