"I'll handle it, Vice Admiral Karp."
Jin An emerged from his thoughts and gave a simple reply.
"Jin An, there's one more thing I need to remind you about, out of concern for a friend," Karp said solemnly.
Jin An broke into a smile. "Hahaha, this is the first time I've heard you call yourself my friend, Karp."
There was nearly a twenty-year age gap between him and Karp, and Karp was also a powerful vice admiral. Jin An had always considered himself the junior.
"You brat, I'm talking to you seriously!" Karp was furious.
Jin An put away his smile. "Go on."
Karp took a deep breath and said, "Four people with special identities were originally headed for North Blue four days ago, but for some reason, they suddenly changed course and headed toward South Blue."
Special identities... and Karp had specifically emphasized the word "people." They definitely weren't insignificant figures...
"I'll keep an eye out." Jin An nodded.
He was rather curious about the identities of these four people, but as far as he remembered, nothing major seemed to happen this year.
Jin An frowned tightly, as if he had suddenly thought of something...
Could it be that incident... Judging by the timeline, it really might be that incident.
Anything involving the Celestial Dragons was not easy to handle...
The people of South Blue were warm and hospitable, and their customs were simple and honest. Nothing terrible would happen... right?
"That's all I have to say. Make your own preparations..."
In Karp's view, even if the Celestial Dragons arrived in Jin An's territory, they would not do anything too outrageous. His reminder was also meant to keep Jin An from coming into contact with those people.
He knew how deeply the people of this world hated the Celestial Dragons, and he did not want Jin An to get dragged in.
Four days earlier, the Holy Land of Mary Geoise.
"Ah!? Have you gone mad, Saint Homing!? With your status, how could you possibly..."
"You would rather give up the position of a god just to become an ordinary person?"
A group of Celestial Dragons surrounded Saint Homing, their faces filled with incomprehension and anger.
Saint Homing stood opposite them with his wife and children, watching them with a smile. "We have always been human."
The Celestial Dragons were filled with indignation. "Are you saying we are the same as you?"
"This is simply blasphemy against the gods! What do you take the Celestial Dragons for?!"
"You damned traitor! You've always been an outcast!"
"That's right! You traitor!"
No matter what the Celestial Dragons said, Saint Homing remained calm. "It does not matter how you view me, but I believe humanity is great."
"Living on as a human will surely be something meaningful, something that will make my life more fulfilling."
"This is my belief."
Donquixote Doflamingo, wearing sunglasses, had no expression on his face. He did not know why his father insisted on leaving this place. It was clearly such a wonderful place.
Hearing Saint Homing's words, the Celestial Dragons could not understand them at all. All they felt was naked betrayal.
"Do you know what you're saying? You are far too arrogant!"
"Since you want to leave so badly, then hurry up and get out of Mary Geoise!"
"..."
Three days earlier, at the edge of North Blue.
"Rear Admiral Kuru, can you take us to South Blue?" Saint Homing looked at the newspaper in his hand, a smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. This was why he yearned for humanity.
The headline at the top of the newspaper read—Jin An, the spiritual leader of South Blue, had now officially been granted the rank of Marine Headquarters colonel and would command all of South Blue!
"It's possible..." Kuru hesitated. "But we have not made preparations there in advance..."
"Your accommodations may need to be arranged again."
Saint Homing said with a smile, "That's fine. Any arrangements for our residence will do."
"Then, Saint Homing, which island would you like to go to?" Kuru asked for his opinion.
Saint Homing glanced at a place name in the newspaper. "Take us to the Sorbet Kingdom."
Kuru froze. The place sounded strangely familiar to him.
"It's an island Vice Admiral Karp once visited. The person in charge there seems rather interesting."
"That's right, which is why I want to go there..." Saint Homing gazed southward, anticipation in his eyes.
He really wanted to meet Colonel Jin An, who was respected by the people of South Blue.
"Huo Shaoshan! You brat, get over here right now!" Jin An's loud shout came from the office.
Huo Shaoshan jolted and immediately rose from his seat, then hurried toward Jin An's office without stopping.
"Colonel, what did you call me here for?" Huo Shaoshan was somewhat uneasy. He feared that the matter he had been worrying about would become reality.
"Why are you so nervous?" Jin An wore a half-smiling expression. "Did you do something bad and are afraid I'll find out...?"
Huo Shaoshan shook his head like a rattle drum and immediately gave a triple denial. "I didn't, I'm not, I don't know!"
"Alright, don't be so nervous. Just treat this place like your own home," Jin An said earnestly.
Huo Shaoshan nodded repeatedly, but inwardly, he only treated Jin An's words as nonsense. At home, he ate and slept. If he really did that here, Jin An would definitely beat him up.
"Have the Marines responsible for scouting South Blue reported any unusual ships entering South Blue recently?" Jin An asked.
Huo Shaoshan did not understand. The scope Jin An had given was too broad, and he was not sure what kind of ships Jin An wanted information on.
For the Marines, pirate ships that required special attention, ships belonging to kings of affiliated nations, and World Government vessels were all unusual...
"What category of unusual ships do you mean?" Since the scope was too broad, he could only keep asking.
"World Government ships," Jin An replied.
Huo Shaoshan thought for a moment. "There have been many World Government ships entering South Blue recently."
"Most of them are merchant ships purchasing supplies for the Celestial Dragons, but those ships head directly to the supply procurement sites. There is nothing that needs special attention."
"Is that so..." Jin An stroked his chin.
Had Karp given him incorrect information? Perhaps those people had not made South Blue their destination and were merely passing through it.
"Alright, there's nothing else. Go do whatever you need to do." Jin An waved his hand, signaling that the matter was over.
Huo Shaoshan looked utterly bewildered. You called me over here so urgently, and this was it?
Just as Huo Shaoshan was about to leave, hurried footsteps rang out in the corridor.
Soon, Kuzan appeared in front of the desk.
"Colonel Jin An, an unannounced World Government ship is about to dock along the coast of the Sorbet Kingdom." Kuzan did not have time to greet Huo Shaoshan before speaking directly.
Jin An glanced at Huo Shaoshan, a dangerous glint appearing in his eyes...
Huo Shaoshan: Colonel, listen to my sophistry... explanation!
