Seeing her mother's helpless expression, her heart ached terribly.
Just then, the sound of knocking came through the surveillance feed. The medical team responsible for examinations had arrived.
A flicker of hope rose in Su Minghui. She only prayed that the doctors could protect her mother until she arrived.
But unexpectedly, not only were the doctors completely accustomed to such treatment, they were also extremely rough while examining the elderly couple. They tossed her father around like a piece of rotten meat. When the needle hurt too much, her mother pushed the nurse away, only to be shoved to the ground along with her wheelchair.
The nurse arrogantly snapped, "You dared to push me? Are you tired of living?"
With the syringe gripped like a knife, she jabbed Su Minghui's mother more than a dozen times in rapid succession. The old woman cried out in pain and begged for help, until she no longer even had the strength to scream.
Those people were all cut from the same cloth.
Fu Siwen kept glancing over as she listened, pressing harder on the accelerator. "These people have gone way too far!"
Su Minghui no longer wanted to watch, but she needed evidence, so she could only keep recording as she watched.
After venting her anger, the nurse left. Madam Su remained curled up on the floor, while the caregivers showed no intention of helping her up.
One of the caregivers was new and still unaccustomed to such brutal work. She swallowed nervously. "Is it really okay for us to do this? I heard their family is very wealthy. What if they find out?"
"Relax. They won't find out."
"The son-in-law is in charge of their family now. He hired both of us, and he's tacitly approved of this kind of thing. Even if their daughter finds out, there's nothing she can do!"
Zhou Guomin. It was Zhou Guomin again!
His conscience had truly rotted away. How could he even refuse to spare helpless old people?
Before her parents' car accident, they had never treated that live-in son-in-law poorly.
How could he be so ruthless?
The two were chatting happily when a foul odor suddenly drifted through the air. They retched at the smell, then went to the bedside and saw that Father Su had indeed relieved himself.
"What is wrong with you two? This is why you shouldn't be fed! At your age, you're still soiling yourself. Aren't you ashamed?"
With her dignity trampled underfoot, Madam Su lay on the floor and closed her eyes in despair, trying to defend her husband. "He's in a vegetative state. He can't control himself at all. Do you think he wants this?"
"You still dare to talk back?" The older caregiver glared viciously at Madam Su. "Since you care about him so much, you surely won't mind."
She yanked the sheet stained with Father Su's waste off him and threw it over Madam Su, covering her completely. "You can sleep like this tonight. Hahaha!"
The arrogant laughter practically burst through the screen. Su Minghui trembled all over with rage, shut down the app, and could not bear to watch any longer.
Just then, the car stopped at the entrance to the nursing home.
Su Minghui and Fu Siwen got out of the car and strode inside aggressively. When the receptionist saw Su Minghui, her expression changed drastically. "Ms. Su, why are you back?"
Su Minghui ignored her and hurried through the lobby toward the building where her parents lived.
The receptionist tried to stop her. "Ms. Su, your appointment time has already passed today. Please make an appointment before visiting again!"
"Visiting? We're paying customers, not prisoners! If you know what's good for you, get lost!" With a single glare from Fu Siwen, she forced the woman back. Only after making sure no one could stop them did she hurry after Su Minghui.
The receptionist stared after them and muttered, "It's over. We're all finished now."
Su Minghui rushed to her parents' room. The door was closed, so she unlocked it with her fingerprint and shoved it open.
Father Su lay on the bed with his clothes in disarray. Madam Su was still lying on the floor in the same position as in the surveillance footage, covered in her husband's waste, with not a trace of color in her face.
The two caregivers were still chatting and had not yet reacted when Su Minghui rushed forward and slapped each of them. Afterward, she hurriedly covered her father with a blanket, then went over and tore the filthy sheet off her mother before helping her back into her wheelchair.
Her eyes brimmed with tears, and guilt filled her heart. "Mom, I'm sorry. I came too late."
Recognizing her daughter, Madam Su felt too ashamed to face her. "It's because Mom is useless. I couldn't protect your father."
Fu Siwen's heart softened at the sight. She comforted her, "Auntie, don't worry. Minghui and I will definitely avenge you and Uncle today!"
The caregivers were still dazed from the slaps. Only after hearing them speak did they realize that the woman before them was Su Minghui. The two covered their faces, exchanged a look, and were filled with panic and fear.
Footsteps sounded outside. Then the director entered, surrounded by several security guards. Seeing the mess in the room and his two employees still sprawled on the floor, he actually questioned them first. "Ms. Su, why did you hit people?"
The nursing home was quiet to begin with, so the commotion quickly drew the attention of the other elderly residents and their families. People kept peeking in from the doorway.
Su Minghui was not polite in the slightest. "Because you abused my parents!"
A chorus of sharp breaths came from outside the door.
After all, those staying here were either clients of the nursing home or their relatives. If the nursing home truly engaged in abuse, it directly concerned their own interests.
The director's expression turned cold. "Ms. Su, you may eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want. Our nursing home has always valued our clients' experiences. Don't blame us for being rude if you continue making baseless accusations!"
The security guards the director had brought were broad-shouldered and muscular, with electric batons in their hands. Calling them gangsters would not have been an exaggeration.
Unfortunately, Fu Siwen was no pushover either. If she had come looking for a fight, how could she not have brought people with her?
She made a call, and two men in black suits marched in. In no time, they "escorted" the nursing home's security guards out.
The director no longer dared to act tough. With a forced smile, he said, "Ms. Su, let's talk this over properly."
He kicked one of the caregivers with his foot. "Hurry up and explain everything clearly to Ms. Su! What exactly happened?"
The caregiver's mind raced, and she quickly came up with an excuse.
"I think the old lady may have dementia. She forgets many things right after doing them. Caring for her is hard enough, yet we still have to be misunderstood by family members like you!"
The director chimed in, "Yes, yes, yes. It's dementia!"
"Is that so? Does dementia let someone easily get hold of medical equipment and prick herself until she's covered in needle marks?" Su Minghui rolled up her mother's sleeve, revealing an arm covered with bruised needle marks at a glance.
