Above the void, Kunpeng's expression was somewhat gloomy. He glanced at Mu Jizi, who had stopped him, and said, "Brother, those two are truly detestable. They actually dared set their sights on us. If we do not teach them a lesson, how can we display our prestige?"
"Brother, do not stir up trouble!" Mu Jizi sighed softly. "The Primordial Continent is in a foul and chaotic state this time, a sign that a great calamity is about to arise. The two of us should not casually forge such karmic ties."
"Brother cultivates the Creation Dao and values avoiding conflict. Your foolish younger brother understands that as well!" Kunpeng shook his head and said resentfully, "But if that means letting others bully us at will, then this Dao is not worth cultivating!"
"Heh heh, Brother is right!" Mu Jizi smiled without quite smiling. "But did those two just now actually bully us? No. Why bother with them?"
"This..." Kunpeng was rendered speechless, then stubbornly argued, "Earlier, your foolish younger brother spared one of their lives. Now the two of them have come looking for us. Could it be that they are not plotting against us?"
"If we could judge right and wrong merely because someone came looking for us, would that not be far too arbitrary?" Mu Jizi shook his head and deliberately said, "If Brother insists, then go down and teach them a lesson. But let us make this clear first: your elder brother will not take part!"
"This..." Kunpeng looked somewhat embarrassed. With his brother's early Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal cultivation as backing, he did not fear the Beast Clan's Great Elder. But without his brother's aid, he could not defeat the man. Since he could not beat him, why go and lose face?
Thinking this, Kunpeng could not help but laugh awkwardly. "Since that is so, I shall heed Brother's instructions! I will not make trouble for those two!"
"That is for the best!" Mu Jizi smiled, not exposing Kunpeng's thoughts. He glanced at the summit of Mount Buzhou, then said, "We have already toured Mount Buzhou this time and acquired some treasures. Why not return to the North Sea now?"
"Agreed!" Kunpeng nodded.
With that said, the two spoke no more. Riding two auspicious clouds, they flew toward the North Sea!
At the North Sea, it was midday. A gentle breeze blew, white clouds drifting past from time to time. Yet the expanse of azure sea appeared somewhat monotonous.
Arriving at the small island where his true body grew, Mu Jizi was somewhat dissatisfied. After thinking for a while, he said to Kunpeng, "Though the vegetation on this island flourishes, it is far too small, and it lacks a little vitality!"
"Brother, what do you intend to do?" Kunpeng asked upon hearing this.
"Your elder brother intends to draw up the foundation beneath the seabed and create a large island!" After pondering for a moment, Mu Jizi slowly explained.
"In that case, Brother may create the island, while your foolish younger brother will seek out that vitality!" Having spent more than five thousand years together, Kunpeng understood what needed to be done the moment Mu Jizi spoke.
"I must trouble Brother with it!" Mu Jizi said with a smile.
"It is nothing!" Kunpeng smiled. "Brother is using great divine power to construct a great island, and your foolish younger brother cannot help with that. But I can still run a few errands!"
"Good!" Mu Jizi smiled.
"Your foolish younger brother is off!" Kunpeng gave a Daoist salute, transformed into his true body, spread his great wings, and vanished from sight...
Watching Kunpeng's figure disappear beyond the horizon, Mu Jizi pondered briefly, then stepped into the void and stood suspended above the small island.
High in the void, Mu Jizi looked down upon the island beneath his feet, his eyes indescribably calm. Suddenly, he clenched his great hand toward the ground, drawing streams of innate earth spiritual energy into his palm!
"Rise!"
A thunderous roar rang out, like the wrath of Heaven itself!
"Buzzzzz..."
In an instant, the innate spiritual energy throughout the entire North Sea, and even the regions of the Primordial Continent near the North Sea, began to churn. In particular, the innate spiritual energy at the center of the North Sea formed terrifying tides!
"Boommm..."
Fortunately, the North Sea was vast. By the time the spiritual energy turbulence reached the Primordial Continent, it had weakened to an almost imperceptible degree. Yet even this barely perceptible disturbance was enough to make cultivators tremble in alarm!
"This... this..." On a small island in the North Sea, Kunpeng was casually gathering living creatures when he suddenly sensed the turbulent innate spiritual energy. He widened his eyes in shock. Only after sensing the direction from which it came did he slowly let out a breath. "Brother's divine power is truly terrifying beyond measure!"
At this moment, it was not only Kunpeng who sensed this transformation of Heaven and Earth. The endless ferocious beasts in the depths of the North Sea sensed it as well. Feeling as though the heavens were about to collapse, they all fled in terror to hide deep beneath the sea!
Meanwhile, the cultivators on the Primordial Continent near the edge of the North Sea had no idea what was happening. Their divine senses were insufficient, and they could not detect the source of that terrifying innate spiritual energy disturbance at all!
Above the North Sea, streams of terrifying innate earth spiritual energy even twisted space itself. Within that warped space, Mu Jizi hovered above the sea like a deity!
The seawater trembled violently, and countless bubbles surged to the surface like boiling water!
Gradually, enormous black shadows rose slowly from the seabed like ferocious beasts!
"Splashhh..."
Who knew how long passed before one black shadow broke through the sea surface, countless waters parting around it. Looking carefully, the shadow was actually an enormous stretch of land, its surface covered in overflowing mud and dense seaweed.
"Splashhh..."
Another mass of land slowly rose. Gradually, more than a dozen enormous landmasses floated upon the sea like more than a dozen ancient ferocious beasts!
"Merge!"
Another thunderous shout rang out. At that cry, the dozen or so landmasses buzzed and gathered around the island peak that had already risen at the center!
"Rumble..."
The earth shifted and slowly fused together. After a long while, the innate energy returned to calm, and a gigantic island covered in mud appeared out of nowhere.
Mu Jizi stopped in the air above the island, panting heavily. Beads of sweat as large as beans dripped from his forehead. Though his face was pale and he looked bedraggled, a faint smile appeared on it. With a sweep of his great hand, the island that had been overflowing with mud was instantly transformed anew.
A hundred flowers bloomed in riotous splendor, and forests sprang up in clusters. The only thing lacking was a few living creatures!
After pondering for a moment, Mu Jizi used his great divine power again to draw more than a dozen spiritual veins into the island's depths. He planted some spiritual objects he had found across the Primordial Continent upon the island, then laid many great formations for gathering spiritual energy, protecting the island, and more, using several auxiliary magical treasures as formation eyes and formation foundations!
After he had finished all this, Kunpeng returned atop a cloud!
"Brother's great divine power!" Seeing the enormous island beneath him, transformed beyond recognition, Kunpeng could not help but stare blankly.
"Heh heh, merely a minor Dao!" Mu Jizi smiled faintly. Though humble in speech, he felt a little proud within. "Brother, quickly release the living creatures and complete this final touch!"
"Agreed!" Kunpeng nodded slightly, then waved his great hand. Countless living creatures and wild beasts appeared out of thin air and fell onto the island! When this was done, the two looked at each other and smiled. Their Daoist sanctuary had been completed!
Descending from the clouds, the two each established a cave abode, then eagerly entered seclusion! During this two-thousand-year journey across the Primordial Continent, they had not only gained many treasures but also attained some insights into the Dao. They needed to enter seclusion and sort through them properly!
