Huanglong Zhenren returned after suffering defeat, leaving the Xuanyuan Human Emperor furious and alarmed for quite some time. He immediately led a host of soldiers against the Jiuli Tribe. After several such defeats, they finally used the Sacred Sword to slay Chi You, dismembering and suppressing him. Only a strand of his True Spirit was taken away by Mu Jizi.

From then on, the Human Race was unified. The Xuanyuan Human Emperor attained the Dao Fruit of the Human Emperor, and beneath the Heavenly Dao, the Human Race was destined to flourish.

Yellow Emperor attained the Dao and departed, yielding the throne to Emperor Zhuanxu. Emperor Zhuanxu then passed the imperial throne to Ku. When Ku died, his son Zhi succeeded him. Zhi was incapable, so the throne was given to Yao. When Yao grew old and senile, he yielded the throne to filial Shun, becoming Emperor Shun. A hundred years later, Emperor Shun passed the throne to Yu, who had rendered great merit in controlling the floods.

When Yu ascended the throne, all feudal lords under heaven submitted, and his authority over the Human Race was immense. After his death, he passed the throne to his son Qi.

Thus, hereditary succession replaced abdication.

Qi founded the Xia Dynasty. Xia later produced Jie. Jie was tyrannical, and the people lived in dire straits, as if submerged in water and scorched by fire. Tang could not bear it and overthrew him, founding the Shang Dynasty. Shang was passed down to King Zhou, another tyrant. Thus began the prelude to the Investiture of the Gods.

Among Shang's vassal states was Zhou. King Wen of Zhou received the aid of Jiang Ziya of Chanism and wished to overthrow King Zhou of Shang. Yet many disciples of the Interception Sect held office in Shang,
