Feng Yue's gaze remained fixed on another Water Mirror.

In the mirror, the rough-clothed youth had been following Shen Liangxian from afar, keeping neither too close nor too far away. When Shen Liangxian became trapped in the formation, he simply stopped walking, leisurely found a flat boulder to sit on, pulled a wild fruit from his robes, and bit into it with a crisp crunch.

He then fished out a tattered booklet from his clothes, dipped his fingertip in the fruit juice, and began sketching directly onto the paper. With the fruit pit in his mouth, he occasionally hummed a few rustic country tunes, utterly unaware that he was participating in a solemn sect selection.

"Is he... copying the trial formation?" Feng Yue's pupils contracted slightly in disbelief.

Yu Qin True Person's eyes flashed. After observing closely for a moment, she exclaimed, "Interesting! The Ninefold Trial Formation links one layer to the next. He must have noticed some of the runes from the Sky-Climbing Stairway onward, and now, combining the formation changes he already knows, he's reverse-engineering part of the formation patterns!"

Feng Yue's heart jolted.

The path of runic formations had always been easy to learn but difficult to master. The trial formation of the Heavenly Mystery Assembly had been reinforced layer upon layer by the sect's formation masters throughout the generations, profound and unfathomable. Yet this wild mountain brat had actually grasped some of its laws through observation and deduction alone, without anyone's guidance?

What kind of talent was that? What kind of vision?

Even more frighteningly—he was not simply trying to "break" the formation. He was trying to "learn" it!
