Fang Yun took a closer look and froze, the jets of water behind the Water Throne slowing.
It was a member of the Mencius Household's party, a fairly renowned Grand Academician who was also a son-in-law of the Meng Family: Wang Chi of the Qi Kingdom.
Fang Yun stopped in the water and carefully surveyed the seabed.
Long strands of kelp covered the seabed, swaying gently in the water like black silk. Beneath them lay pure white sand, with countless remains of the Water Race scattered between the kelp and sand. Fang Yun examined those remains carefully, drawing on his knowledge of the Dragon Race and the ancient demon inheritance to determine their identities.
These remains didn't all belong to Demon Kings. Some have been here less than a month and haven't fully decomposed. It seems I was right: members of the Water Race have already begun breeding in Sin Lake. But Sin Lake isn't suitable for cultivation, so most of these bodies belonged to Demon Marquises or Demon Marshals.
There was nothing unusual about this stretch of seabed except its enormous strands of kelp, yet no matter how he looked, he could see nothing strange about them.
Can even kelp become demons?
Fang Yun quickly dismissed the notion and sank into thought, knowledge from the Dragon Race and the ancient demon inheritance continually surfacing in his mind.
After quite some time, realization dawned on Fang Yun.
*So this is an underwater graveyard. Sin Lake inherited some of the Crime Sea's power and uses currents to carry bodies to designated locations, keeping them away from the dragonbone coral. Wang Chi's body is completely clean, without signs of battle or a single wound. He probably wasn't killed by demon barbarians or underwater jailers; neither makes a habit of leaving bodies intact.
