Background / History

Luo Jin was a slave in New Apple City who awakened his past-life memories at age twelve, shortly after humanity resettled in Auspicious Land following Heavenfall. He quietly taught fellow slaves practical agricultural knowledge at night, instructed them to conceal their abilities, and gathered eleven Ninth Grade Farmers within a year. By placing his bare feet on the earth, he could sense soil moisture and nutrients, allowing him to judge plowing depth and fallow periods. 1

At age fourteen, Luo Jin became an Eighth Grade Field Steward. He organized the underground Old Farmer Hall, publicly led by his cousin Luo Dazhuang but secretly following Luo Jin’s direction. Under his cautious leadership, the group increased crop yields, reclaimed neglected wilderness, cultivated medicinal herbs, and opened Shennong Valley as a hidden base for Premium Quality crops. 5 6

Luo Jin consistently prioritized secrecy and stability over rapid expansion. This brought him into disagreement with Li Shitou, who wanted to recruit and teach more people outside Old Farmer Hall. Luo Jin entered seclusion at the Eighth Grade limit, leaving the hall exposed as internal disputes and the Serf Rebellion escalated. 5 6

After five years of failed seclusion, Luo Jin emerged amid the destruction of Old Farmer Hall and news of Li Shitou’s death. He attained Seventh Grade but suffered backlash from grief and instability. He ordered the survivors to retreat into Shennong Valley, sealed its entrance, and rebuilt the Agricultural Path around inheritance, herb cultivation, and disciplined instruction. 23 24

During more than a decade in Shennong Valley, Luo Jin consolidated his Seventh Grade cultivation, compiled the Herbal Compendium, and persisted through nine thousand attempts before creating a living Earthwalking Straw Figure. However, memories of the Serf Rebellion and Li Shitou’s death became a heart demon that repeatedly blocked his advancement. 25 26

When auspicious snow dispersed the valley’s miasma, Luo Jin led its people out, renamed Old Farmer Hall Snow Auspice Hall, and expanded its concealed influence across five cities. He eventually entered New Apple City, reached Seventh Grade Perfection, and violently suppressed internal calls for an immediate war against the Buddhist and Daoist sects. 56 58

The deaths of Xu Lin and Luo Dazhuang deepened Luo Jin’s heart demon, but Luo Dazhuang’s final letter compelled him to live and continue leading the Agricultural Path. When Buddhist and Daoist forces attacked Peace City, Luo Jin abandoned his attempt to safely enter Sixth Grade and confronted them atop the Rock Dragon formed through the sacrifice of 157 Seventh Grade Herbal Scholars. 60 61 62 63

Luo Jin exploited the weakened state of the opposing sect leaders and bargained with Immortal Gushe’s whereabouts for a temporary oath protecting the Agricultural Path. He ultimately gave his life to secure Peace City’s survival. His death caused a rain of blood that restored vitality to the city and began the Heaven Sequence of the Incense-Fire Divine Path. 64 65 66

Personality

Luo Jin was cautious, patient, and intensely pragmatic. As a slave, he concealed his knowledge and ordered his followers to endure humiliation rather than attract attention. Even after gaining influence over an entire city, he preferred gradual preparation, hidden networks, and secure retreats to reckless confrontation. 1 5 58

He believed that Agricultural Path cultivation depended on sincere teaching, diligent labor, reverence for the land, and a stable Dao Heart. He built unity through master-disciple inheritance and sought to give slaves a future beyond dependence on their masters. 5 6 57

Years of persecution hardened Luo Jin. Though he was reluctant to shed blood, he killed a rebellious Seventh Grade Herbal Scholar when Snow Auspice Hall’s secrecy and long-term survival were at risk. He understood that the reverse inheritance gained from killing fellow cultivators was dangerous knowledge and chose to suppress it rather than exploit it. 58
