She Was Different!

Back at the base, Black Widow Natasha hurried to her room and picked up the satellite phone to call back.

After all, she wasn't military personnel, so she hadn't informed the military right away.

Only after receiving authorization did Natasha come out and take Li Wei to find the generals.

Rhodey truly was Tony Stark's good friend.

The moment Li Wei said he'd found him, he believed him without hesitation.

"Where?"

Li Wei marked an approximate location for him and said, "Tony's condition is pretty good right now, so there's no need to rush. Don't let the enemy notice."

Hearing Li Wei's words, Rhodey calmed down and nodded.

Although he had no idea how Li Wei knew.

But he was willing to believe him.

Put plainly, they were treating a dying horse as a live one.

Tony Stark had been kidnapped for so long that under normal circumstances, he would have been dead already.

No one could have imagined that he would be so lucky and eventually escape on his own.

The only thing to blame was the kidnappers' ignorance...

They had watched him build the Iron Man Suit right in front of them and still couldn't understand what it was.

"We'll formulate a workable plan first."

"That isn't necessary. Just use our company's weapons."

Li Wei smiled.

Every weapon had to be tested in actual combat.

Knowing only the theory wouldn't do. Otherwise, when the critical moment came, they might not even be able to find the place...

Once the weapons produced results in actual combat and the generals saw how powerful they were,

even if other military contractors sent people to persuade them, they wouldn't waver.

Rhodey didn't refuse. He simply nodded.

Afterward, the US Military used satellites to inspect the location Li Wei had mentioned.

Although the image wasn't very clear, they indeed discovered traces of human activity.

The problem was that, under these circumstances, they had no idea what the situation inside was like.

"This is a cave. Can we figure out its internal structure?"

General Davis asked.

"It would take Superman coming here for that to be possible."

One of the generals made a joke.

Technology definitely couldn't achieve that yet.

Being able to see the surface was already pretty good. If they could see the structure inside a cave too, why would anyone bother digging underground?

There was no choice. After discussing it from every angle, they could only launch a direct assault, which meant they needed more manpower.

For now, the most important thing was waiting for Future Technology Company's weapons to arrive.

In the blink of an eye, the day of the operation arrived.

All the weapons from Future Technology Company had been delivered.

The US Military had specifically deployed special forces to familiarize themselves with the weapons beforehand, earning nothing but enthusiastic praise.

Li Wei also went personally. He wore a very thick bulletproof vest and a helmet.

Actually, he didn't really need them because he had a protective shield, but everyone around him was worried, including Natasha Romanoff.

When they boarded the helicopter, 2B and Eve sandwiched him between them.

The two of them, on the other hand, wore nothing extra and continued with their Own Tempo.

This made Black Widow Natasha curious as well. "Don't androids get sunburned?"

She already knew that 2B was an android.

The two of them had sparred out of boredom, and Natasha had nearly been crushed to death by 2B.

That was when she discovered that this young lady weighed nearly three hundred pounds...

Eve, on the other hand, had no interest in sparring with her. She remained aloof and never left Li Wei's side.

But Natasha still suspected that Eve was an android too.

If she were a normal human, why would she call him "Master" every other sentence?

However, whenever Natasha asked Eve whether she was an android, Eve would immediately get angry.

Eve considered herself human...

Aside from a few modifications to her body, she had human flesh and blood!

"No."

2B answered. No matter how much sun she got, her skin remained snow-white.

It was also incredibly smooth.

Even Black Widow Natasha felt a little envious.

Once they were aboard the helicopter, they kept Li Wei between them and put on their ear protectors.

That way, they wouldn't be affected by the noise of the rotors.

Several helicopters all headed toward the location Li Wei had indicated.

They soon drew close.

"Getting any closer risks alerting the enemy."

Rhodey personally directed the operation and said, "Deploy the drones first."

The Griffin Combat Drones flew down one after another, racing toward the cave at incredible speed.

They soon spotted the enemy.

Through the screens, even the soldiers operating the Griffin Combat Drones could see the weapons in the enemy's hands.

"Enemy spotted!"

"Open fire!"

Rhodey didn't hesitate in the slightest.

This was war.

Moreover, they had very likely kidnapped Tony Stark.

In reality, the enemies on the ground reacted even faster.

Although they had never seen drones like these, they knew they were weapons belonging to the US Military and immediately opened fire.

However, the bullets couldn't penetrate the Griffin Combat Drones at all.

Instead, they bounced off one after another.

If this had been a game, those bullets would have inflicted, at most, -1 damage.

The drone operators opened fire as well.

"Rat-a-tat-tat!"

The damage was on an entirely different level.

With round after round of sweeping fire, the enemies fell one after another. Their limbs were even blown apart. The firepower was terrifying.

"This is awesome!"

The drone operators shouted one after another.

In the past, they could only conduct reconnaissance from the sky. How could that have been this satisfying?

They could kill the enemy directly through a screen.

Meanwhile, the enemy couldn't hurt them, at most managing to destroy a drone.

But the enemies didn't have weapons like these. They couldn't damage the drones at all.

After clearing the outside, the helicopters immediately moved in, and the special forces soldiers slid down on ropes one after another.

"Should we go down too?"

Li Wei asked eagerly.

"No!"

Black Widow Natasha immediately refused.

"We've already taken a huge risk by letting you participate in the operation. You have to wait inside the helicopter."

"Then let Eve go."

There was nothing Li Wei could do, so he could only have Eve go instead.

Eve looked at Li Wei. "Master, I have to protect you."

"Natasha and 2B are here."

Li Wei reassured Eve. "You only have one task: bring Tony Stark out."

He simply didn't trust the US Military...

So it was safer to rely on his own people.

Someone as influential as Tony Stark absolutely couldn't die. Otherwise, where would Li Wei get his Reputation Points?

"All right. I'll complete the mission. Master, be careful."

Eve could only nod. She gave Li Wei a reluctant look, then had the helicopter lower itself slightly.

She jumped straight down, and her clothes instantly transformed into a nanotech combat suit.

She bounced off the air once, then burst forward to cushion her landing. After touching down, she rolled across the desert.

The entire sequence left Black Widow Natasha dumbfounded.

"Is she really human?"

She was the Red Room's finest Black Widow, but even she felt as though she were watching a science-fiction movie.

It was a little ridiculous.

"She's different."

Li Wei said, "She's special."

Natasha shot him a look and had the helicopter hide first, lest it be shot down.

On the ground, Eve followed the special forces into the cave.

The Red Queen had also connected to her signal and told her Tony Stark's location.
