At dawn, the first ray of sunlight shone into the room. Merlin slowly opened his eyes, a trace of weariness actually showing on his face.

He rose, took a notebook from the drawer of the mahogany desk, and gently opened it. With a quill, he began drawing strange diagrams on its pages.

"No, this is completely useless."

Merlin frowned. What he had drawn in the notebook were actually Spell Models, though modified ones that did not require absorbing elements. There were no elements in this world to begin with.

The main purpose of these models was to concentrate the bloodline power within Merlin's body. Unfortunately, his Terror Crocodile Bloodline was far too diluted. For a new model to concentrate that bloodline and have any effect, it would even have to account for the rules of the entire Behemoth World.

Thus, creating a complete training method perfectly suited to the living beings of this world was extraordinarily difficult, and certainly not something that could be accomplished in a short time.

Even if Orumba came in person, he would need a great deal of time, let alone Merlin. Merlin simply lacked the ability to create such a training method.

Gently closing the notebook, Merlin shut his eyes for a moment. Deep within his Sea of Consciousness, the shattered Illusory World still drifted about.

Yet the Illusory World had now almost completely collapsed. All that remained was a sliver of its most fundamental-and most central-rules.

Aside from those rules, some Mind Power remained, but that, too, was rooted in the Illusory World. His current body could not practice the Mental-Training Method, so every bit of Mind Power he used was gone for good. It was extremely precious, and Merlin could not draw on it unless he had absolutely no other choice.
