Three days passed in succession. Merlin rarely went out during that time. The guards in the manor seemed to have dwindled considerably, and those who remained hurried in and out, looking extremely busy. He had no idea what had happened, but they all looked anxious.
Even when Merlin occasionally went downstairs, he was always in a hurry. Some maids noticed that his face was growing paler, but they dared not ask about it. Fortunately, Count Stanwen had been away somewhere these past few days and had not come to question Merlin.
"Almost done. There's hardly any Mind Power left, but at least I've rebuilt the framework of the Illusory World."
Merlin's face was indeed rather pale. His Mind Power had been severely depleted. For three days straight, he had used it to restore the overall framework of the Illusory World.
Fortunately, its most fundamental natural order remained, making the framework much easier to restore. Otherwise, even another ten thousand years might not have been enough to recreate the Illusory World.
With the overall framework rebuilt, Merlin would no longer need to worry about it. Given enough time, it would slowly recover on its own, and its natural order would generate further laws.
As for regaining the power he had possessed in the Void Realm, or even transcending the natural order through turning illusion into reality, those goals were still far too distant. A more immediate problem lay before him: he now had virtually no means of protecting himself.
Although none of the manor's guards had mentioned anything to him during this time, the atmosphere throughout the estate felt off. With his keen perception, Merlin could naturally sense the tension. Even without asking, he could roughly guess that something had gone wrong with the war at the front.
