Through a murky haze, Merlin gradually regained consciousness. But in the next instant, he felt as though his entire body were being torn apart, and an overwhelming sense of danger rose within him.
"Where in the world am I?"
Even with Merlin's vast experience and his newfound strength to confront the Void Realm head-on, the unfamiliar surroundings left him shaken.
Above all, he could no longer sense rule power or the rule origin. Everything around him was pitch-black. The only light came from behind him, where a terrifying mass of clouds radiated an immense glow.
Within that immense source of light, Merlin sensed the familiar aura of rule power-the aura of the Void Realm.
"I was sent out of the Void Realm?"
As Merlin took in the sight, it struck him as vaguely familiar. It was just like when he had first left the Land of Glory and entered the Void Realm. Back then, this was how the Planes had looked from within the Void Realm.
The Void Realm had once seemed boundlessly vast, so enormous that even Merlin had never explored it all. Yet from outside, it was merely an immense, glowing source of light. Now that light was flickering faintly, shrinking again and again, and even its aura seemed to be growing much weaker.
Merlin frowned, beginning to understand. The Void Realm had destroyed itself and gathered all its power, yet it still had not been able to completely destroy his illusory world.
As long as the illusory world remained within the Void Realm, it would disrupt the Void Realm's order. Thus, the Void Realm would rather destroy itself, suffer grievous damage, and spend hundreds of millions of years slowly recovering than allow Merlin to stay.
Since it could not kill Merlin, it could only send him away!
