Background / History

Yan Yi'an is the Yan Household's eldest son. At the beginning of the story, Yan Ci publicly alleges that Yi'an is adopted and has received nearly half the family's assets; Father Yan counters that the family has always known Yi'an's background and that Yi'an is the one owed an explanation. 1

He entered Yan Corporation as a mid-level intern during his freshman year and rose to its presidency within several years. Yan Ci acknowledges that he himself lacks the ability to assume the position or carry the corporation's burden. 2
