Background / History

Yan Xianjue was born into the wealthy Yan Household as its youngest child. His early life included poor health and incomplete memories, a matter his family deliberately avoided discussing in front of him. Carefree Master later revealed that Yan Xianjue had been considered someone “outside the bounds of fate”; his grandfather sought to preserve his life through both science and mysticism, succeeding at a personal cost. 227 374

As a child, he was kidnapped and confined in a cabin by a man who threatened him. A fire at an amusement park later triggers the return of this traumatic memory, including events involving Shen Fangli’s father and his escape alongside Lin Shi. 473

At the beginning of the story, Yan Xianjue regains memories of another life: he grew up in an orphanage, endured relentless competition, and worked himself to death. He realizes that his present world combines multiple romance novels and initially embraces his assigned role as an insignificant background character, hoping to live comfortably without struggle. 1
