Special operations team: Ceruno

One of Sirius's legion of maids.

Zara volunteered to join the team taking Miluno to the Breeding Facility.

Her magic was "Phase Shift," which let her take people into Subspace.

But it had its limitations. There was no oxygen in Subspace, so anyone entering had to hold their breath.

With a magical girl's physical abilities, though, they could hold their breath for a long time. It wasn't a particularly harsh restriction, and the magic was decent enough for infiltration. The only problem was that she couldn't tell where enemies were while in Subspace. We might emerge right in front of an enemy's gun.

With Ceruno's mother... my mother absent, she was one of the few people who could fill in.

Miss Achernar nodded.

"Zara's magic will help. Then it'll be the five of us."

We needed to keep the infiltration team as small as possible, so five was about right.

Besides, our roles were clearly defined.

Miss Achernar would lead the way;

I would soothe Miluno, soundproof our movements, and use bubbles to block enemy surveillance;

Zara would take us through areas where we risked being spotted;

As for Xiaoling, her magic could get us into the research institute without using the entrance. She could even put the walls she destroyed back in place, good as new...

Honestly, wasn't "Decomposer" incredibly useful both in combat and as support magic?

"All right! Let's get going!!"

Xiaoling was raring to go, but Xiao Yi stopped her.

"Wait."

"Headmistress, is there something else?"

Xiao Yi glanced up at SpiCa, who had yet to retreat into her cocoon, and cautioned me:

"Ceruno, Sirius hasn't returned either. Apparently, she flew west too. You might run into them on the way to the Second Research Institute. Viktorika might even take the others and flee inside..."
