Background / History

Lorne managed the Morning Bell Caravan’s grain ship during the Marine lockdown of Windmill Village. Recognizing that Su Hang had saved Lia during the gunpowder explosion, he concealed the wanted Devil Fruit user inside a dry inner compartment of a blue-banded water barrel and used the caravan’s disaster-relief cargo as leverage to get the ship released from harbor. 19

During the voyage, a hidden compartment revealed twelve trafficked children and Alan, a captive fish-man. Though initially suspected of complicity, Lorne denied knowing of the compartment, opened the ship’s records to inspection, ordered immediate care for the children, and chose to bring them alive to Graystone Port despite the risk of the ship being impounded. 22
