Background / History

Qian Xunji's death and Bibi Dong's succession

After Qian Xunji was killed by Tang Hao, Qian Daoliu caught the grief-stricken Qian Renxue when she collapsed and pleaded with Bibi Dong not to take her resentment toward Qian Xunji out on their daughter. He later accepted Bibi Dong's succession as Pope and intended to gradually relinquish control of Douluo Hall and Elder Hall once Spirit Hall was stable. 1 5

Although he recognized Bibi Dong's exceptional talent and rapid growth, he refused proposals to restrict her development, partly because she was Qian Renxue's mother. His priority was preparing Qian Renxue to inherit the Angel God's divine position. 5

Nurturing Qian Renxue

When Qian Renxue asked to hunt soul beasts and become stronger, Qian Daoliu first required repeated examinations to ensure she had recovered from fainting. He then sent the Rank 95 Title Douluo Qianjun and Jiang Mo to protect her in the Star Great Forest, considering the danger posed by the recently attacked Clear Sky Sect. 6

Qian Daoliu was stunned by the sacrificial soul rings Qian Renxue gained, then proudly declared her the Angel Clan's unparalleled prodigy. Convinced that she could become the Angel God, he decided to establish her as Spirit Hall's Saintess. 11

Conflict with Bibi Dong

Qian Daoliu closely monitored Qian Renxue's visits to the Papal Hall because he considered Bibi Dong's sphere of activity the most dangerous place in Spirit Hall for his granddaughter. When Bibi Dong's rage escalated, he used his holy angel soul power and Rank 99 pressure to force her martial soul back and prevent an attack. 13

After Qian Renxue later provoked Bibi Dong and was targeted again, Qian Daoliu secretly removed her from the Papal Hall without leaving a trace. Though disturbed by Qian Renxue's behavior, he responded to her apology with sympathy rather than punishment, believing Bibi Dong's treatment had caused her prolonged suffering. 18 19

Qian Daoliu invoked an Elder Hall rule allowing an exceptionally gifted young soul master to be appointed over the Pope's objection. The elders unanimously backed Qian Renxue's appointment as Holy Maiden, and he personally arranged her succession ceremony. 20

The Dragon Realm and Angel God Trials

Qian Daoliu reluctantly allowed Qian Renxue to leave Spirit Hall for long-term cultivation, despite fearing that the powerful gifts and opportunities surrounding her might be payment for her life. When she vanished for years, he was unable to detect the force responsible and feared she had been taken by a god or killed. 38 40 44

Qian Renxue's return after four years shocked him; he had believed she might be dead. During the continent-wide lightning calamity, he was struck directly and could not explain the phenomenon to the other Spirit Hall members. 53 54

After Qian Renxue revealed the Dragon Realm's existence and value, Qian Daoliu ordered Qianjun, Jiang Mo, and Spirit Hall personnel to investigate it. He also respected Qian Renxue's decision that the Dragon Realm should belong to the Saintess, despite Golden Crocodile's concerns over its strategic value. 60 61 69

Qian Daoliu was alarmed when Qian Renxue began the Angel God Trials with an additional chest soul bone and a second, dragon-like martial soul. He believed this would ruin her inheritance, but accepted the restored nine trials after the Angel God's remnant soul was suppressed. 62 63
