Background / History

Lu Chen awakens in a white space and learns that he has become the Heavenly Dao of Douluo Continent, possessing Main God-level strength. Within Douluo Continent, he considers himself invincible among Main Gods and can survey the continent through his divine sense. Tang San's birth and the Asura God's intrusion immediately offend him, as both occur within a world he regards as his territory. 1

Rather than openly confront the Asura God or Tang San, Lu Chen recruits Qian Renxue as his proxy. He shows her a future in which she becomes the Angel God but loses her godhood and Spirit Hall is destroyed, then offers to help her change that fate in return for her loyalty. Qian Renxue accepts, and Lu Chen reveals himself as the Heavenly Dao. 3 4

He subsequently accelerates Qian Renxue's development through soul-beast sacrifices, Spirit Tea, Soul Bones, information, and access to dangerous inheritances. He frames Tang San as an “Outworld Evil God” whose progress threatens her, deliberately using Tang San's ordinary childhood milestones to pressure her into cultivating harder. 14 15

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Lu Chen discovers one of the few places outside his prior control. Using an avatar with Rank Three God-level strength, he descends beneath the well, subdues the remnant souls of the Icefire Dragon Kings, and takes their skeletons. 29

Lu Chen later brings Qian Renxue into the Dragon Realm using the Dragon Kings' souls as a disguise. While she earns the Dragon God's favor by burying dragon remains, Lu Chen enters with his true body, defeats the Dragon God's remnant, and compresses the Dragon Realm into a pearl. 41 48 49

After merging the Dragon Realm into Douluo Continent, Lu Chen triggers the Heavenly Calamity and a continent-wide surge of spiritual essence. He places restrictions on the Dragon Realm so that powerful soul masters cannot freely exploit its resources, intending to claim the dragon clan's fortune and authority for Douluo Continent. 53 57 59

When Bibi Dong's Rakshasa possession risks interfering with his plans, Lu Chen forcibly extracts the Rakshasa God and imprisons it within the Heavenly Dao Palace. He later seals the unconscious Bibi Dong. 55 61
