Background / History

Before the apocalypse, Su Xiaorou worked as a warehouse employee at Lin Dong's supermarket, receiving supplier deliveries and helping manage its rapidly expanding stockpile. She was a college student working part-time to pay her tuition. 1 2

When Lin Dong closed the supermarket indefinitely, she believed she had lost her job. Although dejected, she gratefully accepted his offer of double wages for the month. 2

She later took warehouse work at the university cafeteria, where she hid in the cold-storage area with several survivors. The other survivors abandoned her outside the freezer, and another girl pushed her toward the pursuing Female Zombie to buy time. 11 12

The Female Zombie pinned Su Xiaorou down but released her to kill the girl who had sacrificed her. Su Xiaorou then recognized Lin Dong as her former employer and immediately agreed to work for him in exchange for her life. 12

Her former experience as a warehouse keeper proved essential when Tank could not break through the cold-storage door: Su Xiaorou retrieved its key and gave it to Lin Dong, allowing him to access the survivors and stored supplies inside. 12

Afterward, Su Xiaorou confronted the chefs who had locked her out, but left their fate to Lin Dong. She drove the box truck back from the university and continued doing so when ordered, seeking to demonstrate that she was useful enough to keep alive. 13 14

Following the destruction of Zhao Peng's construction-site fortress, Lin Dong housed Su Xiaorou next door to his residence. In return for food, water, and shelter, she became responsible for cleaning, laundry, dishes, and other household work. 16

When Lin Dong first activated Corpse Domain, Su Xiaorou was caught within its range. The domain left her paralyzed, terrified by visions of corpses and blood, and exhausted after she escaped its radius. She chose not to question Lin Dong after witnessing him seemingly emerge from the kitchen despite having vanished from the living room. 17
