Background & History

Lin Mo was an ordinary office worker before being transmigrated into the Marvel world with no resources, shelter, or support. After arriving in Queens during heavy rain, he discovered that he possessed Basic Phasing, giving him his first means of survival in a world he considered far more dangerous than his former life. 1

Homeless and starving, Lin Mo endured by scavenging food and sleeping wherever he could. He eventually secured a dishwasher trial at the Chinese restaurant Fortune House, where Chen Qiang and Sister Li gave him food, work, and temporary lodging. 2 After a month of work, he rented Martha’s damp basement room, began repairing electronics, and chose to build a stable life instead of obsessing over the system’s year-long check-in countdown. 3

His first full check-in strengthened his phasing into a version of Kitty Pryde’s ability, drawing S.H.I.E.L.D.’s attention. Lin Mo repeatedly rejected Phil Coulson’s recruitment efforts and surveillance, preferring independence and a quiet life in Queens over becoming an agency “asset.” 10 14 40

Lin Mo’s decision to rescue Irene from a burning apartment building transformed him from a secretive survivor into the neighborhood’s “Wall-Crawler.” Although he feared exposure, he accepted that his powers carried responsibility and began using them for rescues, errands, repairs, and other small acts of service. 13 17 32

Lin Mo is pragmatic, humble, and intensely protective. His earliest goal is simply to survive, earn money, and avoid becoming a pawn of S.H.I.E.L.D.; even after gaining stronger abilities, he continues to define success through repairs, neighborhood errands, and the safety of people around him. 2 14 87

He is cautious about power and distrustful of shortcuts.
