Background / History
Ted moved into the basement beside Lin Mo three days before their first meeting. A former electronics-factory technician, he lost his job after Stark Industries acquired his factory and was bitter toward the company over the inadequate severance package. Lin Mo repaired Ted's crashed drone, helping him secure new work at an electronics factory; their neighborly banter quickly became a close friendship 6.
Although initially a civilian spectator to Lin Mo's growing abilities, Ted repeatedly supported him in practical ways. He created the “Lightning Phasing Express” vest for Lin Mo's free errand service and later made props such as a reflective-sequin “Invisibility Cloak” and a bulky magic box for his hobby performances 32 37. He accompanied Lin Mo to Pepper Town, New Mexico, despite not understanding the true purpose of the trip or the scale of the Asgardian events around Mjolnir 26 28.
Ted gradually became the Queens group's recorder and public storyteller. Motivated by his grandfather's Alzheimer's disease and fear that meaningful moments could be forgotten, he began compiling the Queens Heroes Chronicle, preserving photographs, drawings, pressed flowers, and keepsakes from the team's everyday acts of heroism 129. He later hosted the Hero Log's public release at the Queens Community Center, transforming from someone who once hid behind a camera into a confident presenter 156.
During later crises, Ted moved beyond documentation. He used his camera and notebooks for surveillance, intelligence, cover stories, morale, and evidence; he also operated the Energy Interferer during the Dark Elf remnant battle 152 216. Before the conflict with Thanos's forces, Peter entrusted him with a USB containing the community's defense information and a contingency message for the Avengers, which Ted concealed in his camera's battery compartment 291.
Ted was among the residents who vanished during the Snap. Even as he turned to ash, he tried to reach his fallen camera and worried that his documentary and Peter's USB would never reach Captain America 306. He returned with the other vanished Queens residents after the reversal of the Snap and immediately resumed recording the reunion 326.
Appearance
Ted is a tall, skinny white young man with untidy, bird's-nest-like hair. He often scratches his chin while talking, a habit he attributes to having caught it in factory machinery during his technician days 6.
- Usually carries a worn camera, often patched with tape and decorated with a Spider-Man sticker 183.
- Frequently wears casual, work-worn clothing, including oil-stained T-shirts and jeans with torn knees 123.
- Wears glasses on some occasions; they tend to slide down his nose when he becomes excited 173.
- Often handles homemade props, notebooks, or improvised filming equipment.
Personality
Ted is loud, excitable, playful, and prone to exaggeration. He approaches superhero events with the enthusiasm of a filmmaker and regularly gives dramatic titles to ordinary scenes, battles, and training sessions. His enthusiasm can make him reckless: he exposed himself and his equipment to corrosive Dark Elf mist for “exclusive footage,” only recognizing Lin Mo's exhaustion and the danger after being pulled back 213.
Beneath the comedy, Ted is observant, emotionally sincere, and deeply loyal. His Hero Log exists because he wants to preserve the small acts, embarrassing moments, and friendships that might otherwise disappear from memory. He treats the team's daily life as worthy of record alongside their battles 129.
He becomes increasingly brave when others need him. Ted bluffed a suspicious S.H.I.E.L.D. agent with a fabricated disaster-prevention drill plan, helped conceal the team's abilities, operated support equipment under threat, and even smashed his prized camera over a vanguard soldier's head to save himself during the attack on Queens 152 216 298.
Skills
Documentation and Storytelling
Ted records the Queens team's activities through photography, film, illustration, and scrapbook entries.
- Created the Queens Heroes Chronicle, later known as the Hero Log, containing photos, cartoons, pressed flowers, mementos, and written accounts 129.
- Produced community documentaries, including a Hero Log release, a Dark Elf special, an interview program, and a documentary premiere 156 213 256 283.
- Values authentic moments over polished footage; his flawed, shaky recordings are deliberately preserved for their emotional honesty 183.
- Recorded tactical training, defensive preparations, battles, and community recovery efforts 149 276 289.
Improvisation and Social Cover
Ted uses quick thinking, props, and confident storytelling to protect the group.
- Presented the Hero Log as an official disaster-prevention drill plan to deflect a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent's suspicions 152.
- Used community support and filmed testimony as potential protection against accusations toward Lin Mo 144.
- Organized safety warnings and surveillance coverage when Thanos's forces became a potential threat 269.
Field Support
Though not a superpowered combatant, Ted actively contributes during emergencies.
- Operated an Energy Interferer that disrupted Dark Energy during the abandoned-factory confrontation 216.
- Provided surveillance from elevated positions and relayed visual information during defensive preparations 244.
- Assisted post-battle reconstruction by installing replacement windows cut by Lin Mo 90.
- Preserved Peter's emergency USB data within his camera as a last-resort contingency 291.
Equipment / Items

- Queens Heroes Chronicle / Hero Log — A scrapbook-style record of the Queens heroes' deeds, illustrations, photos, and keepsakes; later displayed at the Community Center 129 156.

Relationships
- Lin Mo — Neighbor, closest friend, and the central subject of Ted's Hero Log. Ted supports Lin Mo with handmade gear, filming, humor, and practical help; Lin Mo repeatedly protects Ted during dangerous situations 32 213 256.
- Peter Parker — Friend and frequent collaborator. Peter helps with Hero Log illustrations and technical projects, while Ted records Peter's inventions and receives the team's critical contingency USB from him 156 291.
- Bobby — Friend and fellow Queens protector. Ted documents Bobby's ice-sculpting growth and supports his confidence in public 178 183.
- Rose — Friend and collaborator. Rose helps Ted preserve footage with Memory Grass and treats his rash after his exposure to Dark Elf mist 183 213.
- Martha — Elderly community caretaker who regularly feeds, scolds, and supports Ted. Her warmth is central to many of his recordings 129 213.
- Shield — Ted has a playful relationship with Lin Mo's dog; Shield and the puppies frequently disrupt Ted's filming in affectionate chaos 183.

Trivia
- Ted's grandfather was a firefighter who developed Alzheimer's disease; this is the reason Ted is determined to preserve memories through the Hero Log 129.
- His Hero Log art is intentionally exaggerated, including depictions of Spider-Man with three eyes and Lin Mo's eyes as glowing light bulbs 129.
- He gave the Queens team the photo title “Breakfast on the Ruins” and once called them the “Unofficial Mutant Squad” 90.
- Ted is capable of lifting his heavy magic box one-handed after prolonged exposure to Lin Mo's approximately three-meter biological enhancement field, though he initially does not know the cause 46.
