Winning Over the Slytherin First-Years
Now that he'd accepted the mission, Lester needed to carefully consider how to complete it.
If you ask him to truly understand these purebloods, he might not be able to do it, but if you want him to subdue them, Lester has plenty of ways.
However, there are many people around now, and the headmaster and professors are still there, so it's not convenient for me to take action myself. I can wait until we get back to the Slytherin Common Room before I do it.
As soon as Lester settled in, Albus Dumbledore stood up. He looked at the students with a broad smile, opening his arms to them, as if nothing pleased him more than seeing his students gathered together.
"Welcome!" he said. "Welcome everyone to Hogwarts to begin a new school year! Before the banquet begins, I would like to say a few words."
That is: Idiot! Crybaby! Trash! Twist
Then Lester's plate was filled with food.
Although Lester was a worldly man, he had never seen so many of his favorite foods laid out on the table at once.
Roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops, lamb chops, sausages, steaks, boiled potatoes, baked potatoes, potato chips, Yorkshire pudding, pea shoots, carrots, gravy, ketchup, and for some strange reason, mint hard candy.
Looking around at the other tables, Lester couldn't help but click his tongue in amazement. Hogwarts was truly a grand and wealthy institution; the first meal of the school year was so lavish. When would his own Azkaban Magic Academy be able to enjoy such splendor?
After being slightly taken aback by Hogwarts ' wealth, Lester began to eat.
Even though Lester is now the godfather of Azkaban and holds a certain position in the Wizarding World, he hasn't really learned much about aristocratic etiquette because Lester's always been involved in the underworld.
So, while the other Slytherin wizards ate their food with perfect posture and affected manners, Lester picked up his chopsticks and devoured the food in a flash, leaving the other Slytherin wizards frowning in dismay.
"Where did this mongrel come from? Has it never eaten before?"
Beside Lester, a Slytherin with a disdainful look on his face whispered mockingly at Lester to his companion.
"I initially thought he was a young master from some prestigious family, but judging from his dining etiquette, haha."
This is quite obvious. Just based on Lester's dining habits, these young Slytherin wizards can determine that Lester is definitely not a nobleman.
Therefore, after reaching this conclusion, their attitude towards Lester took a sharp turn for the worse.
The older, more shrewd wizard merely gave Lester a disdainful look and said nothing more.
Only a few first-year wizards who had just enrolled were pointing and whispering at Lester, occasionally with malicious smiles on their faces.
Lester had seen all of this. He had long anticipated what would happen when he entered Slytherin. These young wizards from Pure-blood families would definitely gang up on him to maintain their pure-blood authority.
It's not that he was the only Muggle-born without a background in Slytherin's first year, but all the other Muggle-born or Half-blood wizards were very cautious after being sorted into Slytherin. Only he stood out during the sorting process.
Once they discover they're not purebloods, these brain-dead pureblood idiots of their own age will definitely come after them to establish their authority.
Lester remained completely unfazed. First of all, he was completely ignorant of the so-called pureblood dining etiquette. Secondly, even if he were, he wouldn't bother pretending in front of this bunch of trash.
In Lester's view, these so-called nobles in the Wizarding World have abandoned their noble spirit and are nothing but parasites in the Wizarding World.
What is the spirit of nobility?
True aristocratic spirit should have three important pillars:
First, cultural cultivation helps resist the temptations of materialism, prevents people from making pleasure their life's purpose, and fosters noble moral sentiments and cultural spirit.
Secondly, there is social responsibility. As social elites, they should be self-disciplined, cherish their honor, help the vulnerable, and shoulder the responsibilities of the community and the country.
Thirdly, they possess a free spirit, an independent will, and the courage to say no to power and money. They are able to transcend fashion and trends, and are not enslaved by political power or the opinions of the majority.
And what about these purebloods? Apart from reeking of money, they don't have a single noble air about them. Lester really wondered if these purebloods had gone stupid from inbreeding.
Therefore, Lester couldn't be bothered to pretend in front of them; such trash didn't deserve his pretense.
While eating, Lester glanced at the various people at the table, each with a different expression.
Apart from Malfoy, who was seated in the middle of the Slytherin table at the beginning of the semester due to his family background, most of the other first-year students sat at the back.
This also included Malfoy's two mentally challenged underlings, Goyle and Crabbe. Malfoy clearly looked down on them, thinking it was a loss of face to have them around, but unfortunately, only these two guys' families were affiliated with his Malfoy family and could serve as his underlings, so he had no choice but to take them in.
At this moment, at the end of the table, many first-year Slytherin wizards were staring at Lester with ill intent, wanting to give him a hard time later.
Lester was fully aware of this, but he didn't care at all. Even if they didn't cause him trouble, he would still cause them trouble for the sake of the mission. So, having them come looking for trouble would save him a lot of trouble.
Lester was confident that if they dared to come, he would definitely have a way to 'subdue' this group of pure-blooded wizards.
Without even thinking, Lester already had quite a few methods in mind.
Of course, these methods are all somewhat against the rules, and we're still under Dumbledore's watchful eye, so it's better to use some gentler methods.
In fact, the simplest way for Lester to win over these first-year Pure-blood wizard would be to have Sang Biao lead his men to ransack all the homes of the first-year Slytherin students.
The reason these pure-bloods can act so arrogantly at Hogwarts is not because of their pure-blood status, but because of the resources and influence of their families.
If I let Sang Biao kill their whole family beforehand, they would be insecure, and then I could manipulate them however I wanted.
Of course, this method is too bloody and would attract Dumbledore's attention, so unless these pure-blooded Slytherin in their first year are ungrateful, Lester will not rashly allow the Slytherin to Sang Biao the house.
I can easily subdue these Slytherin wizards with my own hands.
