Don't Want to Play? Then Get Lost
The day after Lester became captain of the Slytherin Quidditch Team, the Quidditch team held its first meeting in the common room.
All the Slytherin house team members were present, and not one dared to be late.
Even Marcus and two others who had already left the team were forced by Lester to participate in the meeting, becoming typical examples of resistance against Lester.
Apart from Marcus and two others who withdrew, all four other starting players were present.
Lester sat regally on the sofa, while Marcus two companions, their faces bruised and swollen, stood before Lester in utter humiliation.
The other four senior starters, although pressured to give up the captaincy to Lester, were certainly resentful of Lester deep down.
Nonsense! I'm a fifth or sixth grader myself. Letting a first grader be the team leader? Wouldn't people laugh at me?
However, seeing Marcus and his two companions with bruised and swollen faces, they remained silent out of genuine concern.
"Hello everyone, I believe you all know who I am," Lester slowly rose and said calmly, "My name is Lester Bide, captain of the Slytherin Quidditch Team."
Upon hearing this, the four starting players all displayed different expressions.
They had heard rumors about Lester beforehand and knew he was a very domineering freshman, and also very capable.
However, his fighting ability or ability to torment others might be very strong, enough to subdue Marcus.
But Quidditch ultimately relies on teamwork, and even if Lester's magic is powerful, he still needs strong teammates.
Slytherin's house team has now been forced to remove three players, and they need three more to fill the gaps, otherwise they won't even have enough players to play.
If they were Lester, they would definitely need to keep a low profile for the sake of team unity, which would make it easier to lead the team.
Unexpectedly, this junior was so arrogant, coming up to say he was the team leader and showing no respect for the older students.
Although they looked down on Lester, the group listened attentively, secretly preparing to see him make a fool of Lester.
There are only a handful of people in Slytherin House who know how to play Quidditch, and now Marcus and two others have been kicked out, and the tournament is about to begin.
They wanted to see where that arrogant Lester kid was going to find three mature players.
Actually, Lester also felt a bit awkward. After all, Quidditch is a team game, and no matter how strong he was, he couldn't lead a bunch of useless players.
Lester then turned to Marcus and said calmly, "Marcus, the team is currently short two players. Are any of you three willing to return to the Quidditch Academy?"
Marcus and his two companions looked at each other, wondering whether to return to the academy.
Others might not know Lester's methods, but didn't the three of them?
This guy is a little devil in human skin! If I were to become one of his teammates, it would be fine if we won, but if we lost, wouldn't he take his anger out on me?
"Brother Lai, we're not playing Quidditch," Marcus said humbly. "The whole school is talking about us, and Professor Snape doesn't want us to play."
Marcus was clever; he brought up Professor Snape.
His whole family was in Lester's hands; if he rashly refused him, his father would definitely be the one to suffer.
Lester. He wouldn't force Marcus and the others to play Quidditch if they didn't want to, after all, he valued human rights.
"Lester, I have a friend who's always wanted to join the college team," a senior player said without hesitation.
"I also have a friend who can be the Seeker, taking over from Avery as the Chaser."
"Perfect timing! My roommate's always wanted to play Quidditch, so he can be the Seeker."
At this moment, the three Quidditch players, seemingly trying to relieve Lester's worries, all said they had friends who could take over the positions of Marcus and his two companions.
Upon hearing this, Lester laughed, "If all three of your friends can take over, then what am I, as the captain, supposed to do?"
An older player stepped forward and said nonchalantly, "Captain Lester, you're still young. You'll have plenty of opportunities to play in the future."
"You'll be at a disadvantage playing against older players right now, so you should stay on the bench."
Lester was amused. Good heavens, letting his friend join the team and making him a substitute—wasn't that just sidelining him?
"Is that what all four of you think?" Lester asked with a smile.
Seeing Lester smiling, the other four assumed Lester had given in and immediately nodded without hesitation.
They were even somewhat smug.
So what if you can fight? So what if you can mess with people? You're still at my mercy now.
Seeing this, Lester sneered, "What if I don't agree?"
"You won't agree?" Several senior team members were taken aback upon hearing this, and said, "Lester, there are only a handful of people in Slytherin who can play right now. If they don't play, our team won't even have enough players."
"Are you saying that if we don't let them play, we Slytherin are guaranteed to lose our Quidditch Match?"
Lester's voice grew increasingly cold, Marcus and the other two could feel Lester displeasure, trembling with fear.
The other four players also sensed Lester's displeasure, but they weren't particularly afraid.
In their view, Lester now not only cannot target them, but must also cater to them and meet their demands.
With Marcus and two others leaving, the team was already short-handed. Now that four of them are leaving, isn't Lester left all alone?
That's why they dared to so brazenly sideline Lester.
They even assigned team positions right in front of Lester without Lester permission.
"Young Lester, Quidditch isn't a game you've played before. It's not like child's play; it requires teamwork."
"Don't worry, all you have to do is hand us water and clean the brooms during the match, and I'll make sure Slytherin wins."
The Slytherin upperclassmen spoke without any restraint, and after convincing themselves that Lester wouldn't dare to touch them, they became even more audacious.
"Serving you tea and water?" Lester said slowly, his face grim. "Do you think the Slytherin team can't play without you?"
The senior students didn't say anything, but their expressions clearly showed that they thought so too.
"Excellent, wonderful!" Lester smiled.
These bastards actually think they can fool me like a child and try to sideline me.
"Now, immediately, go find Professor Snape and tell him that the four of you have voluntarily withdrawn from the Quidditch team due to health issues!"
Lester, expressionless, pointed to the door of the common room and said coldly, "The four of you have been expelled from the Slytherin team. You are no longer members of the Quidditch team."
To sideline him? You're kidding! How could the Godfather Azkaban be sidelined by a few kids?
"We've been fired?!"
The four upperclassmen couldn't believe that they had been expelled by Lester, a first-year wizard!
