Second Classic of Southern Mountains
Su Yu was now in a dilemma. He didn't know which clan Kurama belonged to either. "Is it possible that she's from Fusang... a wild fox?"
The Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox looked somewhat surprised, lowered its head, and seemed lost in thought.
"You're the wild fox! I'm going to bite you!" Kurama didn't see the strange expression on Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox's face. She charged like a wild beast and crashed into Su Yu. Su Yu picked her up and stroked her fur, her four little legs flapping rapidly.
The Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox watched the two bickering, a smile appearing in her eyes. As if she had made a decision, she coughed to interrupt them, "Little girl, come here, I have some questions for you."
"Me?" Kurama Fox was completely bewildered. What was going on with this Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox? Why was she being asked so many questions? She didn't know anything about it, but she still jumped out of Su Yu and walked up to the Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox.
"Do you want to transform into human form? I sense that the bloodline in your body is very thin. If this continues, even after several hundred years, you won't be able to transform."
"Transform? Oh! I don't need to! If I turned into a human, I wouldn't be able to eat as much delicious food, because I'd get fat! I'm fine now, and even if I gain weight, it wouldn't be noticeable! Plus, I'm small, so I'm more satisfied when I eat!" Kurama didn't want to transform at all. Wasn't she good as she was? Tenten did was eat and sleep, and Su Yu had already started "exploiting" her even before she transformed. What if she really transformed? Wouldn't she be exhausted? Humph! She was smart enough not to fall for it!
"But, a long, long time ago, I've forgotten how long ago, an old friend asked me to pass on something to a little fox who had transcended the Three Realms and the Five Elements, and possessed a trace of Heavenly Fox Bloodline. I just calculated it again, and it really is you. Don't you really want it?" The Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox still had that kind face. This little guy was indeed peculiar. The silly girls in the clan were looking forward to transforming into human form Tenten, but this girl didn't seem to have the slightest interest in it.
"Your old friend? What is that?" Su Yu was a little curious. An old friend from a very, very long time ago? He knew that some ancient powerful beings could calculate everything, but this Kurama was summoned by his system. How could it calculate that?
"I can't say his exact identity, nor can I. You'll probably meet him in the future, but not now. Don't worry, he means no harm. He's just giving this child a power, an Ancient Foxfolk power. I've had this power with me for a long time, but your little fox doesn't want it." The Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox chuckled twice and gently tapped Kurama's forehead.
"What? I can encounter him again?" Su Yu was utterly shocked. What was all this about? An ancient monster, still alive today—just how powerful was he?
"You should have said it was power earlier! I'd take it! Although I feel invincible right now, I'd take anything that can enhance me!" Kurama felt invincible ever since she obtained the power of the Ten-Tails, but with her opportunistic nature, she would take anything that offered power!
The Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox looked helplessly at the shameless girl in front of her, sighed, slowly walked up to Kurama, lowered her head, and gently touched Kurama's forehead with her own.
The point where the two made contact suddenly emitted a golden light that exploded outwards.
The Hogwarts Academy students shielded their eyes from the intense golden light, Yousu Yu saw that the golden patterns were like tree roots, taking root in the center of Kurama's forehead and then spreading beneath her fur.
The Kurama slowly rose into the air, its nine tails standing upright at the same time. It raised its head and let out a long howl, startling the birds in the forest into scattering.
As the light slowly faded, Su Yu reached out and caught the slowly descending Kurama. The Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox took a few steps back, a slight smile playing on its lips, and whispered.
"Don't worry, the child will understand in time. This power isn't something that can be gained overnight, but at least from now on, she has her own path."
Kurama was a size bigger than before, its fur was golden with a hint of red, and the tips of its nine tails were also tinged with a light golden-red.
When she opened her eyes again, she looked down at her tail.
"Wow, look! Kurama's tail has become even more beautiful!" The first to speak was Callis, who looked at Kurama with a hint of envy; Kurama was indeed becoming more and more beautiful.
Everyone turned to look at Kurama. Daphne and Cho Chang even reached out to touch Kurama's newly acquired beautiful skin. Kurama didn't stand on ceremony and proudly swung the longevity lock in Su Yu, showing off his smugness.
The Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox turned around and walked back into the depths of the mountain mist, its nine tails appearing and disappearing in the mist before finally vanishing into the layered mountain shadows.
Kurama jumped down from Su Yu, its tail swishing back and forth.
"How do you feel?" Su Yu squatted down and placed his hand on the top of Kurama's head.
"It's different now." Kurama's voice was muffled, his amber eyes fixed on the sea of mist where the Golden-Eyed Fox King had disappeared. "I can't quite put my finger on what's different, but it just is."
"Then Kurama, will you really be able to transform into human form in the future?" Ka-jie asked, stroking Kurama's head.
"I don't know. I feel like a lot of things have suddenly popped into my head. I need to find some time to organize them and see if there's a way to transform them."
Daphne came up from behind, holding a clean handkerchief in her hand, and wiped Kurama's four little feet clean. This child, just as he was showing off, jumped into a muddy area and got his paws dirty. If he jumped into her arms again in a moment, she would forget about getting her clothes.
Su Yu didn't take Kurama's newly enhanced power to heart; he could test it out when he had time. What he was concerned about was the old friend the Heavenly Nine-Tailed Fox had mentioned. He wondered who it would be that he would see again in the future. The thought of an old monster eyeing him made him feel a little uneasy.
After crossing Green Hill, the group arrived at the last mountain of the First Classic of the South, Jiwei Mountain.
This place is inhabited by the mountain god, Bird-Body Dragon-Headed God who governs all the great mountains of the First Classic of the South.
Su Yu used the fine jade that the Kurama had picked up on the road, along with some rice, and after offering prayers, led everyone to Gui Mountain.
After entering the Second Southern Circuit, the terrain becomes even steeper, and the further south you go, the more precipitous the mountains become.
On the cliffs on both sides, you can see strange chisel marks from time to time, as if something had dug them out vigorously.
