In the hall, fireworks shaped like fire dragons weren't the only danger. A huge pink Catherine Wheel skimmed over Umbridge's and Filch's heads, sending them ducking for cover before it smashed through a window behind them.

Fireworks of every kind filled the air. Wand-shaped ones wrote strings of filthy insults overhead, while rockets of every color streaked about, trailing flames. Several enormous bats spewing purple smoke even charged toward the third floor.

Umbridge and Filch were plainly stunned. Trembling, Umbridge shouted for Filch to help her stop the chaos.

"We have to stop them, quickly! Stupefy!"

Umbridge drew her wand, but the rocket she hit exploded on the spot, blasting a huge hole through a nearby portrait.

Luckily, the witch in the portrait had fled into the one beside it. Several wizards playing cards there hurried to pull out a chair for her.

"Don't use Stupefy on them, Filch!"

Harry nearly burst out laughing. Filch was a Squib. How could Umbridge blame him?

"You're right, Headmistress!"

What choice did Filch have? Whatever Umbridge said went. As if he could stun those fireworks. He'd have better luck eating them...

Helplessly, Filch pulled a broom from a nearby cupboard and swatted at the flames in the air. Within seconds, the broom was blazing too.

Harry laughed so hard he could barely straighten up. Then he remembered something and made his way down the corridor to a tapestry. He knew there was a door behind it, leading to a secret room.

Sure enough, when Harry slipped inside, he found the Weasley twins hiding there. They were listening to Umbridge shriek and covering their mouths to keep from laughing, though their shoulders still shook.

"So it really was you two. That was brilliant!"

Harry grinned at the sight of them.
