Ron clenched the wrinkled Sorting Hat in his palm, the rough fabric digging tightly into his hand.
Thunderous booms kept erupting in the distance. Rubble shot skyward alongside hellish black light, while piercing spellfire and Voldemort's savage laughter blended together. That was where Su Yu and Graves were battling Voldemort. Ron could imagine how brutal it was over there, every second spent struggling at the brink of life and death. Yet he held something that might turn the tide, but could not uncover its secret.
The stone path beneath his feet was riddled with cracks from hellish lava. Spells and blasts of energy occasionally streaked past his ears. He hunched his neck and lowered his body as he darted between collapsed pillars and broken chunks of stone.
Fawkes's cry circled overhead, as though guiding him. Ron could sense a faint magical pulse within the hat. The aura of Slytherin's Spear seemed tightly linked to it, and it also seemed to share some inexplicable pull with the figure fighting Voldemort in the distance.
He ran until he was gasping for breath. The rushing air had torn several holes in his school uniform, and flying rubble had scraped his arms raw, leaving them burning with pain. Still, he did not dare slow down.
"Su Yu!" Ron shouted with all his strength. Pushing through the swirling dust, he clutched the Sorting Hat and rushed to the edge of the battlefield. He did not dare barge into the center of the fight, so he could only shout from a safe distance. "Su Yu! Come over here! There's something else inside the Sorting Hat! We can't pull it out—only you can try!"
He hugged the seemingly tattered hat tightly, his eyes filled with urgency and hope. His gaze remained fixed on Su Yu as his heart hammered in his chest. He feared distracting Su Yu during the battle, yet desperately hoped he would hear him, unravel the secret of Slytherin's Spear, and give them a better chance in this war.
Ron's cry pierced through the smoke-filled sky like a sharp blade splitting the chaotic battlefield apart.
Su Yu was twisting aside from a black sword aura that grazed past his shoulder. It exploded against the stone wall beside him, blasting out a charred hole as fragments of rock rained down. Hearing Ron's voice, Su Yu's heart tightened. From the corner of his eye, he saw Ron's disheveled yet desperate figure clutching the Sorting Hat, and his brow instantly furrowed.
"Stay back!" Su Yu roared. He kicked Voldemort in the chest, using the recoil to flip several meters backward while raising a hand to launch a Tailed Beast Bomb. The blast's gale swept up rubble and blocked Voldemort's view. "I can't get away from here!"
Nearby, Grindelwald's figure flickered unpredictably, faint streams of light glimmering around him. He moved along Voldemort's rear flank, continuously striking and restraining him with fierce magical force, forcing Voldemort to divide his attention. The two of them hemmed in Voldemort's hellish form from either side.
Watching Su Yu's battle, Ron broke out in a cold sweat. The Sorting Hat in his arms seemed to respond, growing faintly warm. As though making up his mind, Ron suddenly raised it above his head, pulled open its brim, and hurled it toward Su Yu with all his strength.
"Su Yu! Fawkes brought this! Slytherin's Spear is inside! We couldn't pull it out, but you're the only one here who can take it! Maybe it can help you!"
The moment those words left his mouth, not only Su Yu froze, but even Voldemort's movements paused for an instant.
Slytherin's Spear? What the hell was that?
The hat tore through the air, carving an arc through the dust. Su Yu twisted aside to evade Voldemort's sweeping blade and raised a hand, catching the Sorting Hat firmly.
A crisp hum suddenly sounded from within the Sorting Hat. Then Slytherin's Spear, entirely dark green, slowly flew out of the hat and hovered before Su Yu. The spear's serpent-shaped patterns gleamed under the light of chakra, while the cold glint at its tip was even more blinding than Voldemort's magical sword.
Su Yu reached out and gripped the shaft. A cold yet incomparably powerful force instantly flooded into his body. It merged perfectly with his chakra without the slightest rejection, instead making his chakra denser and more violent. Inside him, Nine-Tailed Fox watched it all, her amber eyes fixed on the spear as a low, wary growl rumbled in her throat.
"This thing..." Su Yu felt the power surging through him, and a trace of surprise flashed through his eyes.
The moment the spear emerged, a faint dark-green glow lit up, and an ancient magical aura spread across the battlefield.
Seeing this, Voldemort let out an enraged roar. His black sword, wrapped in deathly energy, stabbed straight toward Su Yu's heart. Grindelwald instantly cast a spell, erecting a heavy shield of light between them that forcibly blocked the fatal blow.
"Ron, get back!" Su Yu shouted. Tightening his grip on the spear, he charged Voldemort once more.
This time, he was several times faster than before. The spear swept out, bringing howling wind blades with it. With every clash, Voldemort was forced back several steps.
Su Yu stomped the ground and surged forward. Chakra exploded beneath his feet in a ring of golden light as Slytherin's Spear, glowing faintly green, aimed directly at the left shoulder where the black energy veins were most concentrated. The thrust was faster than even an afterimage, tearing the air apart with a piercing shriek.
Voldemort roared in fury and hastily raised his sword to block. When the black blade collided with the dark-green spear tip, there was no expected thunderous explosion—only a strange sizzle. The spear pierced directly through the blade and stabbed toward his left shoulder as though ripping through paper!
"No—!"
The black mist of his hellish form churned violently. His once-unbreakable defense melted away the instant the spear tip touched the black energy, like ice meeting blazing fire. Where the spear struck, the black mist collapsed inch by inch, exposing the grotesque flesh beneath. Soul-deep agony raced along the spear shaft and through Voldemort's entire body, making him convulse violently.
Su Yu sharply twisted his wrist and lifted the spear, carving open a wound deep enough to expose bone. The dark-green spear light seeped into the wound, constantly corroding the foundation of his hellish power. The previously violent black energy began to grow chaotic and thin.
"Damn thing!" Voldemort howled in agony, violently jerking his shoulder in an attempt to break free. But Su Yu held the spear shaft tightly. Chakra surged wildly around Su Yu, and a Tailed Beast Bomb instantly formed. The black sphere, wrapped in the spear tip's dark-green radiance, slammed viciously into Voldemort's chest.
Boom!
The Tailed Beast Bomb exploded. Hellish power, chakra, and the spear's power collided and intertwined, while the massive shockwave blasted away every piece of rubble nearby. Voldemort was hurled backward again and again before his back smashed into a ruined stone pillar. The pillar instantly shattered, and broken stones came raining down.
At that moment, Grindelwald seized the opportunity. He flashed to Voldemort's right side, several silver-blue magical blades gathering at his fingertips before shooting toward Voldemort's limb joints like a torrential downpour. Each blade carried precise piercing force, striking at the blind spots in Voldemort's movements and forcing him to abandon offense and curl up awkwardly to evade them.
Su Yu took the chance to advance. In a single step, he appeared before Voldemort, holding the spear horizontally with its tip pressed to Voldemort's throat. The Rinnegan's insight allowed him to see Voldemort's weakness clearly—only a thin layer of black energy remained, and the spear had severely damaged his core of power. None of his previous violent might remained.
"It ends here." Su Yu's voice was cold, carrying an unquestionable pressure.
Voldemort raised his head, his snake-like eyes filled with venom and resentment. He tried to summon one last black spell in retaliation, but the moment he moved, the chakra beneath Su Yu's feet locked him down firmly. He could not gather even a trace of magic. Grindelwald swiftly closed in as well, magical light converging around him to form an airtight encirclement that completely sealed off Voldemort's escape.
The battlefield suddenly fell silent. Only Voldemort's ragged breathing and the faint tremble of Su Yu's spear remained. The dark-green glow illuminated Voldemort's twisted face and the temporary calm over the ruins of the Chamber of Secrets. This deadlocked battle had finally reached a decisive turning point through Slytherin's Spear's defense-piercing power.
Slytherin's Spear in Su Yu's hand remained pressed firmly against Voldemort's throat, locking down the foul energy surging around him and leaving him unable to move at all.
Voldemort leaned against a broken stone pillar. The power of his hellish form was crumbling away, and his flesh had already begun to rot slowly, yet he still refused to admit defeat, continuing to ramble on.
"You think a single spear can defeat me completely? Don't dream of ending everything here! I have studied dark magic for years. My plans for immortality will never be destroyed so easily!"
Before he could finish, another cold, distant voice abruptly echoed through the scene. It belonged to Lucifer, dwelling within Voldemort's soul, and it reverberated through the layers of his soul from the depths of hell.
"Hello there, Su Yu, right? I've heard your name in hell. Every time Belial mentions you, he has to cover his ass." At that point, Lucifer broke into wild laughter. "What an interesting little brat. Why have I never seen the power you wield?"
"Maybe I'm special." Su Yu's tone remained calm, and his grip on the spear did not loosen in the slightest. "Why are you always able to use Voldemort to come to the human world?"
Lucifer's laughter stopped. Within Voldemort's body, two voices intertwined and haltingly revealed the secrets of the past.
"Back then, he coveted immortality. He wanted to split his soul and transcend life and death. The dark magic of the wizarding world alone was not enough to create seven perfect soul fragments. With nowhere else to turn, he actively sought the Abyss's power and asked hell for aid."
Lucifer's voice continued to echo from within Voldemort's soul, revealing the deception of that year. "The seven demon kings of hell pretended to offer help, acting as though they were willing to lend him power to create Horcruxes. In truth, it had been a deception from beginning to end. Every time he split his soul and forged a Horcrux, another shackle was planted within him. Each Horcrux contained a fragment of one demon king's power."
"More than that." Lucifer's tone was cold and indifferent. "Voldemort never imagined that even his complete soul bore the Abyssal Mark of hell. So long as it is one of his soul fragments, the demons of hell can follow that mark to parasitically attach themselves to it, using the soul's passage to project part of their power into the Outer World. There is no need to break through the barrier between worlds—his soul is the only vessel through which part of our power can reach the mortal world. Belial's case does not count. He merely lured you into the Inner World, where he could temporarily send part of his power. That damned bastard actually wanted to keep it all for himself."
Voldemort howled in disbelief. "I always thought I had controlled hell's power. I thought I had borrowed the power of the Abyss in exchange for immortality. In the end, from beginning to end, I was merely a vessel for your power to parasitize in the mortal world?"
"Correct." Lucifer replied blandly. "You thought you commanded darkness, but from the moment your Horcruxes took shape, all of your souls had already become parasitic vessels for hell. The reason part of my power can now manifest a phantom through your body is entirely because your shattered, incomplete soul serves as a stepping stone."
Voldemort completely lost control of his emotions. Bitter, unwilling words spilled endlessly from his mouth as he kept arguing, cursing, and babbling without pause, repeating the plans of his entire life and his unwillingness to accept this outcome. His ceaseless noise filled the ruins, making Ron frown from behind them.
The endless nonsense kept dragging at the oppressive atmosphere. Listening to the unending bickering and shouting, Su Yu's patience gradually wore away.
"Enough nonsense. One last question: why have you always targeted Harry Potter?"
"Want to know? Then come to hell. We'll be waiting for you here, hahahahahaha—" Lucifer's laughter echoed continuously through the ruins, growing farther and fainter.
Su Yu suddenly exerted force with his wrist. Gripping Slytherin's Spear, he lunged forward and pierced straight through Voldemort's chest in an instant!
"Arrogant fool!"
A sharp tearing sound rang out. Voldemort's body abruptly stiffened, and every word in his mouth came to an immediate halt. His ruined flesh instantly lost all life, while the spear's power grievously struck his fragmented soul. The vessel sustaining hell's possession completely collapsed.
As Voldemort's body slowly turned to ash, the support dwelling within him vanished completely. The phantom of Lucifer deep within his soul began to fade bit by bit, losing its outline and slowly dissolving into the air.
"This farce is postponed for now. Remember: when you gaze into the Abyss, the Abyss gazes back at you. We will not let this go!"
The final echo scattered in the wind. Lucifer's phantom completely dispersed, and the hellish pressure covering the ruins receded like a tide. The Abyss's cold aura vanished without a trace, leaving only devastation behind.
Everything returned to silence.
Elsewhere.
The battle on the other side had also reached its conclusion.
Harry held the silver sword, its blade glinting coldly. Seizing an opening while Lockhart was casting, he decisively swung down and severed the arm holding Lockhart's wand. Blood splattered as Lockhart let out a miserable scream. His magic collapsed, and he fell backward.
Hermione immediately stepped forward and swiftly bound Lockhart tightly with a binding spell, leaving him no room to struggle or resist.
With that, the battle ended.
Harry barely managed to get to his feet, trembling all over. He was so dizzy it felt as though he had just ridden a rocket for several miles. He leaned against the wall and gasped for air, nearly losing his grip on the sword.
"Su Yu, hurry and save Ginny!"
Su Yu's brow suddenly knitted tightly.
"What? Why is Ginny here? Didn't she not take the diary? How did she still end up here?"
