Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Eighth-Rank Divine Mountain | 199–200 | Liu Yuanchen condenses its Heavenly Dao Authority and becomes its mountain god. Its mountain phantom is initially only three inches long; its principal Authorities are at the eighth rank. 199 200 217 |
| Subordinate Seventh-Rank Divine Mountain | 217 | A Dark Iron Ore Seed develops into an Ore Vein beside the Earth Vein. The mountain’s original six Authorities rise to Subordinate Seventh Rank, while its Spirit Vein advances from lower-grade third rank to middle-grade third rank. 217 |
| Standard Sixth-Rank Heavenly Dao Authority | 267–268 | Liu Yuanchen gains authority over Netherworld Coiled Dragon Mountain, whose newly condensed authority is proper sixth rank. Its fusion with the Yang-Realm authority raises their shared Heavenly Dao Authority to standard sixth rank. 267 268 |
| Proper Fifth-Rank Divine Mountain (Netherworld counterpart) | 301 | A Profound-Yin Spirit Jade Ore Seed becomes an ore vein more than ten li long, causing Netherworld Coiled Dragon Mountain to rise above 500 zhang high and more than 300 li long. Liu Yuanchen consequently becomes a proper fifth-rank Heavenly Dao True God. 301 |
Appearance
Coiled Dragon Mountain originally resembled a low, east–west-running dragon lying across the Red Wasteland. Its head and tail curve southward around Coiling Dragon Valley, where both its Dragon Vein and former Spirit Vein are located. 179 184
- Originally more than 200 li long but only slightly over 30 li wide, with no peak reaching 100 zhang. 179
- Its northern slope supported sparse ordinary vegetation, while the rainless southern slope was largely barren yellow-brown rock. 179
- Coiling Dragon Valley is oval-shaped, more than 30 li long and nearly 20 li wide, with gentle slopes suitable for settlement. 179
- Its Netherworld counterpart is dim and mist-covered, with a Spirit Spring, lake, and yin-infused vegetation resembling—but differing from—the Yang-Realm landscape. 252
- Following its Netherworld advancement, the counterpart rose to over 500 zhang and extended beyond 300 li. 301
Background & History
Discovery and restoration
Liu Yuanchen located Coiled Dragon Mountain through a Dragon-Seeking Compass, which detected an isolated Dragon Vein east of Dongyang Lake. Its lack of a visible Spirit Vein was highly abnormal, since Dragon Veins ordinarily depend on Spirit Veins or Earth Veins. 179
Xiao Yu later discovered a spiritual underground watercourse roughly 300 zhang below the mountain. A recovered upper-grade second-rank Spirit Vein Crystal indicated that the mountain had once supported a Spirit Vein between lower-grade fifth rank and upper-grade sixth rank before its energy was carried away by the water vein. 180
Ling Yu’s investigation identified the source of the Dragon Vein: an Innate Dragon Embryo, a small golden dragon-shaped stone directly connected to an Earth Vein. The embryo had been shattered in an ancient battle and could never become a True Dragon. Removing it would destroy the Dragon Vein, so Liu Yuanchen and Ling Yu chose to preserve it and nurture it by restoring the mountain’s Spirit Vein. 180
Establishment of Dongyang Divine Prefecture
Ling Yu designed Dongyang Divine Prefecture around Coiling Dragon Valley. The prefecture was planned for the valley’s northern slope, backed by the surrounding mountains and facing the future Coiling Dragon Lake. 184
Liu Yuanchen later blocked the downstream underground river with Gathering Qi into Stone, forcing spiritual water to rise through the mountain. More than one hundred Spring Eyes emerged across Coiled Dragon Mountain, while the Coiled Dragon River deepened enough to support heavy transport. 201
Recognition as a Divine Mountain
By placing the mountain’s Spirit Vein Mark within the Earth Book and drawing on the Spirit Nexus, Liu Yuanchen gained Coiled Dragon Mountain’s recognition. A miniature mountain phantom formed in his Sea of Consciousness, granting him the mountain’s Heavenly Dao Authority. 199
The Earth Book became the mountain’s Authority Treasure, allowing Liu Yuanchen to exercise and amplify its Heavenly Dao Authorities while using Incense Power to replenish the mountain phantom’s expended energy. 202 268
Territorial Properties
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Dragon Vein | Located in Coiling Dragon Valley and sustained by the shattered Innate Dragon Embryo, which channels Earth Vein energy into the mountain. 180 |
| Spirit Vein | Once collapsed and dispersed into underground water; later restored and developed from lower-grade third rank to middle-grade third rank after the Ore Vein formed. 180 217 |
| Earth Vein | Passes beside and nourishes the mountain’s Dragon Vein; the Innate Dragon Embryo is connected directly to it. 180 225 |
| Ore Vein | A Dark Iron Ore Seed was planted near the Earth Vein rather than the Spirit Vein, preventing its growth from draining the mountain’s cultivation environment or defensive formations. 217 |
| Spring Eyes | Redirected underground water created more than one hundred Spring Eyes across the mountain, including two in Coiling Dragon Lake. 201 |
| Coiling Dragon Lake Market | A commercial settlement protected by the mountain’s formations and Spirit Vein; it later grew into a major local population and talent center. 219 |
Heavenly Dao Authorities
Heavenly Dao Domain
Through the mountain phantom, Liu Yuanchen can perceive the entirety of Coiled Dragon Mountain, including underground cracks, watercourses, formations, plants, creatures, and Ore Veins. 200 395
- Initially encompassed the mountain range and an additional 30 li beyond it. 218
- Expanded to 50 li beyond the range after the first Ore Vein advancement. 218
- Suppresses Mountain God-type Divine Path Authorities within Coiled Dragon Mountain; even stronger incense deities cannot exercise such authority there without Liu Yuanchen’s permission. 200
- Cannot fully penetrate areas hidden by sufficiently powerful formations. 395
Stewardship Authorities
Coiled Dragon Mountain’s authority is primarily suited to governing, repairing, and developing the territory rather than direct combat. 200
- Gathering Qi into Stone/Earth — Repairs mountain cracks, redirects watercourses, forms hills, and supports territorial expansion. 200 201 305
- Plant Sight and Hearing — Receives information transmitted through the mountain’s vegetation. 200
- Wind-Chant Beast Speech — Understands animals and, when amplified by the Earth Book, can eavesdrop on distant sounds from as far as 2,000 miles away. 200 268
- Myriad Spirits Submit — Compels the mountain’s plants and beasts to obey. 200
- Enlightening Myriad Spirits — Gradually improves the intelligence and cultivation potential of long-term inhabitants. After the Yin–Yang fusion, Golden-Thread Rice sprouted immediately and a Yellow-Scaled Pine Dao Soldier advanced to the Sea of Qi Realm. 200 268
- Transmuting Stone into Ore — Accelerates Ore Vein development; initially only ninth rank, but especially valuable when wielded through the Earth Book. 217 219
Earth Book Amplification
The Earth Book bears Coiled Dragon Mountain’s mark and substantially strengthens the output of its Heavenly Dao Authorities. 268
- The mark was strengthened through large-scale Incense Silver expenditure, including 35,000 taels over six months. 219
- Its maximum output remains limited by the mountain’s current rank. 268
- The strengthened authority enables Liu Yuanchen to use the mountain’s power at considerable distance through the Earth Book. 225
Netherworld Counterpart
Netherworld Coiled Dragon Mountain mirrors the Yang-Realm mountain’s basic terrain, lake, river, and Spirit Spring, but its environment is richer in yin energy and was initially controlled indirectly by surrounding Demon Kings and Ghost Kings. 252
After a major battle devastated its vegetation, Liu Yuanchen found the mountain’s upper fourth-rank Spirit Vein intact. The destruction left it as a “blank slate,” allowing him to replant and gain the mountain’s recognition without directly provoking its hostility. 255
Liu Yuanchen ultimately imprinted its Spirit Vein in the Earth Book and condensed its Heavenly Dao Authority. Its one-foot mountain phantom far exceeded the Yang-Realm mountain’s original three-inch phantom, demonstrating the counterpart’s superior foundation. 267
The Yin- and Yang-Realm Coiled Dragon Mountains subsequently fused their Authorities into a single shared power, with the higher-ranked Netherworld mountain taking precedence. Its advancement also began gradually strengthening the Yang-Realm mountain’s body and Spirit Vein. 268 302 305
Defense and Strategic Role
Coiled Dragon Mountain became a frontline stronghold because of its position near important waterways and the Demon Race frontier. Its Spirit Vein is comparatively independent of Blackcloud Ridge’s Great Spirit Vein, protecting it from the Dragon-Shaking Formation’s wider suppression effects. 201 207
The Blood Bat Sect and Dragon Race attempted to sabotage the mountain using the Mountain-Sealing Spirit-Locking Seal, an artifact capable of damaging linked formation cores and suppressing their Spirit Vein. Ling Yu reinforced the false formation cores before the attack, ensuring that the true core remained intact. 231 233
During the assault on Dongyang Divine Prefecture, Liu Yuanchen deliberately lowered the visible defenses to draw the invaders into a prepared ambush. The Origin-Earth Thicksoil Array protected the mountain from the battle’s collateral damage, while hidden Human Race forces sealed the area around the attackers. 233
Centuries later, the mountain’s fifth-rank Spirit Vein and layered formations made Dongyang Divine Prefecture secure enough to serve as the Human Race’s frontline command center. 517
Expansion toward Blackcloud Ridge
Liu Yuanchen began extending Coiled Dragon Mountain southward through repeated use of Gathering Qi into Stone. His clones created twenty to thirty hills over two years, extending the range nearly 100 li and completing roughly one-sixth of the route to Blackcloud Ridge. 302
The mountain eventually reached Blackcloud Ridge. Liu Yuanchen repaired part of Blackcloud Ridge’s damaged Spirit Vein and created a branch connection to Coiled Dragon Mountain; after more than half a year, Blackcloud Ridge acknowledged the connection and granted him partial access to its fifth-rank Heavenly Dao Authority. 305
Relationships
- Liu Yuanchen — Mountain god and principal developer; gained its recognition, established Dongyang Divine Prefecture, restored its water supply, developed its Spirit and Ore Veins, and expanded its territory. 199 201 217 305
