History

Early History

The earliest Human Race lacked an independent cultivation system and lived scattered among Demon Race tribes, often as vassals or slaves. Their surviving written history begins only after human tribes began forming and resisting Demon Race rule 31 192.

Humans first imitated the Azure Ape Tribe's cultivation methods. Human sages refined these practices into the Physical Body Path, whose collected inheritances became the Myriad Beasts Scripture. The path enabled rapid human expansion, but depended heavily on consuming spiritual treasures; the growing Human Race eventually exhausted available resources faster than they could replenish 31.

The resulting inheritance crisis led sages to develop the Qi Refinement Path. Cultivators with Immortal Seeds could absorb and refine the spiritual qi of heaven and earth, reducing their reliance on spiritual treasures 31. The Human Race later suffered catastrophic losses during the Extraterritorial Lifeforms' invasion, allowing the Demon Race to regain territory and contributing to the Physical Body Path's decline 31 507.

Witch-Human Legacy

Ancient Witch-Humans—offspring of the Witch Race and humans—possessed unusually powerful vitality and blood. Their souls fused with their bodies during cultivation, preventing conventional Divine Sense but allowing them to develop Spirit Awareness 192.

The Human Race's Physical Body Path is believed to descend from Witch-Human practices blended with Demon Race methods. The modern Earth Immortal Path further combines this inheritance with the Grotto-Heaven and Blessed Land methods associated with Grand Immortal Zhenyuan 192 193.

Divine Court Manipulation

The Witch Race supported the rise of the Divine Court after the Extraterritorial Lifeforms' invasion, while secretly embedding control measures in the Investiture List, God-Striking Whip, and Treasure-Gathering Basin 511. The Basin siphoned Human Race Incense Merit to the Witch Race for over 20,000 years, weakening humanity's fortune and limiting the emergence of exceptional cultivators 511.

The scheme aimed to use the Divine Court to suppress the Qi Refinement and Earth Immortal Paths, leaving the Human Race dependent on the Divine Path and permanently subordinate to the Witch Race 511.

Revival under Asking Dao Mountain

Eight Desolations Pavilion produced more than thirty Earth Immortals, then secured the neutrality of the reclusive Human Race Longevity Immortals before replacing the Divine Court as the Human Race's ruling power 508 509.

At the Asking Dao Mountain assembly, Azure Origin Pill King was elevated to Dao Lord Azure Origin, leader of the Human Race. The Elder Council was reestablished, the Divine Court was restricted to Divine Path affairs, and factions were permitted to leave the Great Xia Divine Dynasty for Asking Dao Mountain 514.

Under the new order, the Human Race defeated the Demon Race's Demon Cloud Sea forces, acquired extensive Dragon Race inheritances, and began correcting long-standing flaws in its Qi Refinement Path 519 522.

• Humans possess Innate Dao Bodies, forms highly compatible with the Dao that grant exceptional speed in cultivation and law comprehension compared with other acquired beings 329.

Human City Gods collect wandering souls and transfer them to Netherworld outposts, while Witch Race-appointed generals escort those souls onward to Nether Capital and Reincarnation 566.

The Human Race later sought to expand a Netherworld Divine Path system, with divine offices overseeing judgment, punishment, and lifespan allocation for departed souls. The proposed Eighteenfold Hell was intended as its punitive framework 550 551.
