• Hyuga Xiao and Kurenai Yuhi defeated Urashiki’s remnant inside Hong’s mind, and Hong gained a Proto-Eye of Time as Xiao recovered memories linking Danzo to stolen Branch House Byakugan.
• Xiao and Hong returned toward Konoha, where they learned that Danzo planned to use Hinata’s Byakugan and had Hiashi supplying Branch House captives to Root.
• Xiao and Hong entered Konoha and encountered Hinata, who secretly signaled them that Hiashi would visit a Root base the following night.
• Qiye revealed that Danzo’s experiments were killing Branch House captives and that Homura Hyuga would escort prisoners to Secret Transfer Station No. 3, so Xiao went to intercept them.

Hyuga Xiao used Hinata as bait to expose Danzo’s experiments, then forced Hiruzen to abandon Danzo after presenting evidence of Root’s crimes. After leaving Hinata in charge of his affairs, Xiao followed the trail of the Silver Scale toward Ryūchi Cave and confronted Orochimaru and Kabuto.

After Kurenai defeated an attacking force, they discovered the Moon Advance Team planned to land at the Hyuga Ancestral Shrine and returned to Konoha to prepare a trap.

• Hyuga Xiao defeated the White Snake Sage, extracted the God Tree Mutated Tumor, and survived the ancient will inside it before refining the remnants and reaching a 50% Tenseigan fusion rate.
• Hyuga Xiao stopped Orochimaru from betraying him, then used the tumor's memories to learn that the Moon Advance Team would arrive in less than twenty-eight days.
• Hyuga Xiao told Kurenai Yuhi that awakening Urashiki's Time Seed could kill her, and she accepted the danger as he prepared a formation and linked their souls.
