| Legendary Wizard | 464 | Female Voldemort has only recently entered the Legendary Wizard level, but remains weaker than Grindelwald and far below Voldemort at his peak. |
Background
Tom Marvolo Riddle became Voldemort after pursuing powerful Dark Magic, immortality, and domination over the Wizarding World. Before leaving Hogwarts, he created his first Horcrux: the diary containing a sixteen-year-old soul fragment capable of communicating through writing, constructing mental illusions, and eventually forming a fragile soul projection 52 257.
After graduation, Voldemort spent ten years abroad gathering Dark Magic from wizards across Western countries. This period transformed him into a blue-skinned, red-eyed, noseless figure and gave him the magical prowess to contend with Dumbledore even when Dumbledore wielded the Elder Wand 245. At his peak, he possessed roughly 5.5 times the magical power of an Elite Professor-level wizard 251.
Voldemort targeted the Potter family because of a prophecy concerning a child born at the end of July to parents who had defied him three times—a child who would possess a power he did not understand 35. His failed attempt to kill Harry left a soul fragment inside Harry's scar, while other fragments were hidden in Horcruxes 31 353.
Appearance
Voldemort's primary form is a hairless, blue-skinned figure with scarlet eyes, shriveled lips, and no nose. While inhabiting Quirrell, his face appears through an opening in the back of Quirrell's head 19.
- Peak Dark Lord form — Bald, blue-skinned, red-eyed, and noseless 353.
- Sixteen-year-old soul projection — Handsome, pale, black-haired, black-eyed, and sharp-featured, with an intact nose; its lower body fades into translucence above the diary 257.
- Parasitic forms — Exists as black smoke, possesses Quirrell, inhabits a giant python, and later parasitizes Ekris's abdomen 20 98 138.
- Female Voldemort form — Ekris emerges with Voldemort's bald, blue-skinned, red-eyed, noseless head on a female body 420.
Personality
Voldemort is cruel, impatient, and contemptuous of both enemies and followers. He treats Quirrell as a disposable vessel, orders Ekris to acquire the Philosopher's Stone and unicorn blood under threat, and drains followers' life force to repair his own injuries 19 98 424.
He regards morality as a weakness invented to restrain the strong, openly arguing that only strength and weakness exist 258. Blood purity is likewise an instrument rather than a genuine conviction: the teenage diary fragment admits that bloodline was merely useful for manipulation, while Female Voldemort later abandons pure-blood supremacy in favor of raw power 259 437.
Even when restored whole, Voldemort shows neither remorse nor repentance. His main personality, rebellious Nagini-derived fragment, and younger diary-derived fragment instead struggle for control until his final destruction 353 355.
Abilities & Skills
Horcrux Creation and Soul Fragmentation
Voldemort divided his soul to evade death, leaving one main soul and seven soul fragments. The diary fragment, Harry's scar fragment, Nagini-linked fragment, and other Horcrux-bound pieces survive separately for varying periods 353.
- A Horcrux's soul and vessel are inseparably linked: harm to one transfers to the other 259.
- The diary fragment can write, communicate, create mental illusions, and manifest a soul avatar after receiving sufficient life force and magical power 52 256 257.
- Reassembly of all fragments produces two additional personalities because the self-aware diary and Nagini fragments retain independent mental states 353.
Dark Magic
Voldemort is recognized as a master of Dark Magic whose peak strength exceeds Grindelwald's and can rival or surpass Elder Wand–empowered Dumbledore 245 251.
- Casts Fiendfyre powerful enough to defeat Gringotts goblins and their Fire Dragons 19.
- Uses the Cruciatus Curse against Dudley during the Gringotts battle 19.
- Uses Smoke-Form Flight for rapid evasion and travel 423.
- Female Voldemort employs Legilimency, the Variant Imperius Curse, and Bewitching Black Miasma to coerce and reshape Death Eater loyalty 421 429 437.
Possession and Parasitism
When weakened, Voldemort survives by inhabiting living hosts.
- Possesses Quirrell and controls him through the face on the back of his head 19.
- Escapes Quirrell's destruction as black smoke by using the turban as an enhanced Portkey 20.
- Parasitizes a giant python while ordering Euklyss/Ekris to secure the Philosopher's Stone and unicorn blood 98.
- Later inhabits Ekris's abdomen, exerting influence over her thoughts and actions 138 220.
Parseltongue
Voldemort possesses complete innate Parseltongue, enabling speech and comprehension of snake language as well as command over ordinary and magical snakes, including a Basilisk 354.
- This ability is forcibly seized by Dudley with a B-rank Ability-Stealing Talisman while Voldemort is incapacitated 354.
Life-Force Absorption
Female Voldemort can restore herself through the life force of others.
- Heals Ekris's injuries by draining her life force while parasitizing her 220.
- Drains five Death Eaters to heal injuries sustained during the escape from Ollivanders and gain additional vitality 424.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Yew Wand — Voldemort's former wand; later acquired by Dudley from Hagrid 92.
- Elm wand — Wielded by Female Voldemort during the confrontation with the Malfoy-led defector faction 430.
- Diary Horcrux — His earliest known Horcrux, housing the sixteen-year-old Tom Riddle soul fragment 52.
- Horcruxes — Include the Gaunt Ring, Slytherin's Locket, Nagini-linked fragment, Harry's scar fragment, and fragments associated with the Deathly Hallows 31 353.
Relationships
- Harry Potter — Prophecy-designated nemesis; Harry's scar contains a Voldemort soul fragment and reacts to Voldemort's proximity or attention 31 35.
- Albus Dumbledore — Principal adversary; Dumbledore regrets enabling Tom Riddle's rise and later helps defeat, reconstruct, bind, and witness the destruction of Voldemort 37 353 355.
- Quirinus Quirrell — Possessed host treated as expendable during the Gringotts confrontation 19 20.
- Ekris / Female Voldemort — Host to Voldemort's main soul and later leader who adopts a Voldemort-like female form, commands Death Eaters, and rebuilds his ideology around strength 138 420 437.
- Severus Snape — Former spy whose exposed loyalty becomes a source of Voldemort's distrust; Voldemort calls for Snape's help during his regression, only to be betrayed 100 354 355.
- Death Eaters — Followers controlled through fear, Dark Marks, Legilimency, and soul-based enchantment; Female Voldemort discards pure-blood supremacy to recruit Dark wizards of any blood status 429 437 438.
- Gellert Grindelwald — Female Voldemort forms a temporary alliance with him after reaching Nurmengard; Grindelwald seeks her aid in finding a Philosopher's Stone 465 470.
- Dudley Dursley — Captures and experiments on Voldemort's diary fragment, reconstructs the complete Voldemort only to bind and destroy him, and later covertly manipulates Female Voldemort's campaigns 259 353 355 439.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Gringotts Battle and Escape
Voldemort reveals himself through Quirrell after arriving in search of Harry Potter. He uses Fiendfyre against the goblins and Fire Dragons, takes the fake Philosopher's Stone, and tortures Dudley before Dumbledore's intervention forces his main soul to abandon Quirrell and flee through the turban Portkey 19 20.
Hogwarts Infiltration Through Ekris
After possessing a giant python, Voldemort orders Ekris to secure unicorn blood and the Philosopher's Stone. He later parasitizes her abdomen, threatens her survival, and attempts to use her to recruit Snape and arrange the deaths of Harry and Dudley 98 100 101 138.
Diary Horcrux Interrogation
Dudley opens the diary and provokes the sixteen-year-old soul fragment into communication. The fragment debates Dudley over morality and power, reveals crucial information about Horcruxes, and becomes the subject of experiments with the Precision Killing Curse 255 258 259.
Reconstruction and Destruction
Dudley gathers Voldemort's main soul and fragments through the Conceptual Repair Charm, rebuilding his body and soul beneath the Dark Mark. The restoration returns multiple competing personalities, restores Voldemort only to his weakest magical state, and leaves him bound and helpless 352 353.
After Dudley steals his Parseltongue and records his magical knowledge, Voldemort is regressed physically and spiritually through childhood, infancy, Soul Origin, and finally complete disappearance 354 355.
Female Voldemort's Death Eater Campaign
Ekris emerges as Female Voldemort, seeks a wand, survives Ollivander's counterattack, and rebuilds a force from double-dealing Death Eaters and captured Dark wizards. She uses soul-based Dark Magic, Legilimency, and Bewitching Black Miasma to enforce loyalty and replaces pure-blood supremacy with the doctrine that strength determines worth 420 423 429 437 438.
After failures in Britain, Female Voldemort escapes abroad, reaches Nurmengard, allies with Grindelwald, and stages a fake death to evade White Wizard pursuit while attempting to rebuild her influence internationally 463 470 475.
