Asgard

Suddenly, a man dressed in black appeared, putting Loki on guard. He raised Gungnir at the man, then lowered it again.

Clearly, the two knew each other.

"This is Asgard, not a place you can come and go as you please, nor somewhere you can enter whenever you want."

"Even if your master came, he would have to treat Odin's son with courtesy."

"That is true."

"My master would indeed treat Odin's son with courtesy, but are you one?"

"Are you?" He placed special emphasis on those three words.

The moment Loki heard that, rage surged within him.

"You!!!"

"I am the king of Asgard now. Even your master must bow his head before me."

The man in black stopped arguing with Loki and laid out the issue. "As long as Thor lives, your throne will be difficult to secure."

"Let me think about it for a few more days. He is my brother, after all."

"He is not your brother. You are the son of a Frost Giant."

Those words struck Loki's heart like a blade piercing straight into it. He clenched his fists tightly, as though he had finally made a decision.

"Can we discuss the terms now?"

"Of course."

Back on Earth, Chen Xu had grown somewhat impatient after waiting in this small town for so long. He looked at the coffee in his hand.

"Should I go ask Ancient One? He should have some way to get me into Asgard. But what excuse would I use to enter Odin's Vault? If it really comes down to it, maybe I should just forget this mission. The system never said I had to complete it. I should know my limits."

Just as Chen Xu was about to give up and return to the New York Sanctum, he suddenly sensed a terrifying energy in the sky that tore through the magical barrier they had set up.

A vortex appeared in the sky, drawing the attention of everyone in town. Chen Xu walked out of the café and looked up. A pillar of energy instantly connected heaven and earth.

Thor also noticed the anomaly in the sky. He sighed, though no one knew what he was mourning.

In truth, Thor had been on Earth for a long time. He had prepared himself to let go of everything from the past—his identity as the prince of Asgard, his divine power, and any hope of returning. He had thought Loki had become king of Asgard and would spare him. Now, it seemed he had been wrong. Loki still wanted to kill him.

Thor told the doctor beside him to take a taxi and leave quickly. Jane held a cup of beer and walked toward the pillar of energy against the raging wind.

Seeing Thor's actions, Chen Xu did not step forward to stop him. He knew Thor would not die. As a transmigrator, Chen Xu naturally knew what would happen next. Thor would not die; instead, he would regain his divine power, wield Mjolnir, and shatter the Destroyer.

Chen Xu still felt a little anticipation. What would Thor, one of Marvel's Big Three, look like wielding Mjolnir? More than that, Chen Xu wanted to see how Thor commanded storms and lightning, so he could observe and study it, strengthening his own magical power.

The Destroyer was the ultimate weapon Odin had forged to battle the Celestials. Its power was incomparably immense. It had also been made with countless rare materials Odin had acquired while struggling across the universe in his youth, and its hardness could only be described as indestructible.

Odin had used it to conquer the Nine Realms and establish the Asgardian Palace.

Now, this ultimate weapon stood three meters in front of Thor, gathering energy as it aimed its laser at him.

Thor said to the Destroyer, "Brother, I do not know what I did to make you become like this. I only hope that after I die, you will spare the others and not hurt the people around me. I know you can hear me and see me."

In fact, Loki had been controlling the Destroyer all along. Through it, he could see Thor standing three meters ahead and hear Thor's words. He hesitated for a moment, and the Destroyer paused as well. But soon, it attacked Thor again, firing a beam of energy directly at him.

When Thor saw the energy laser hurtling toward him, he did not retreat in the slightest, nor was he afraid. He had already cast life and death aside. He closed his eyes and awaited death's arrival.

"Everything is over."

Thor was sent flying. The energy laser burned his body, and the impact made him cough up blood. He was already on the verge of death.

The Warriors Three, Sif, and Jane immediately rushed toward the dying Thor.

Seeing this, Chen Xu seized the opportunity and appeared in front of Thor. He knew Thor would recover his divine power and shatter the Destroyer. Chen Xu's goal was to gain Thor's favor and help him deal with Loki, so Thor could take him to Asgard. Since he had helped him, Thor should be willing to let him see the legendary Odin's Vault.

At that thought, Chen Xu was filled with fighting spirit.

Come on, Loki. Come at me. Let me see just how powerful this legendary armor of destruction is.

Of course, Chen Xu did not say it aloud; he merely thought it. All he needed to do was hold Loki back and wait for Thor to regain his divine power and wield Mjolnir.

But what Chen Xu never expected was that Loki directly controlled the Destroyer to attack him. An energy laser even more terrifying than the one fired at Thor shot toward Chen Xu.

Seeing this, Chen Xu immediately put on God's Hand and conjured a magical shield to block the attack.

The collision kicked up countless clouds of dust. Then Loki's voice came from within the Destroyer.

"Mortal, I was wondering who it was. So it is you."

"For fuck's sake, Loki, I have no grudge against you. Why are you attacking me?"

"Nothing I can do about it. You blocked my path. Today, I will show you the consequences of defying the gods and defying Asgard. Prepare to bear the wrath of Asgard's king."

Chen Xu was utterly baffled. He had not expected Loki to hold such a grudge.

The moment he finished speaking, an even stronger energy laser shot toward Chen Xu. After blocking it with his magical shield, Chen Xu immediately retaliated. He used Chaos Magic, unleashing a skill created through it and transforming it into a sphere of pure annihilating energy, which he hurled at the Destroyer. Yet to Chen Xu's surprise, it merely stripped off one layer of the Destroyer's outer shell, leaving him completely bewildered.

Loki was equally shocked.

"This mortal actually damaged the Destroyer."

The giant of destruction, renowned for being indestructible, had had a layer of its skin peeled away by someone else.
