Background

The Demon Venerable was stationed on the Demon Race's Endless Sea Domain front lines when Black Dragon Demon Lord and two other local Demon Lords were killed by Jiang Tai Xuan. The sole surviving local Demon Lord fled to report the losses to him. 528

Determined to remove Jiang Shu and restore Demon Race morale, he used a great technique to send an avatar after him rather than appearing personally. The avatar first bound Jiang Shu with a trace of aura, then pursued him through the Chaotic Demon Sea and into an Abyss filled with Spatial Turbulence. 529 531

The campaign ended unsuccessfully. Jiang Shu repeatedly escaped the avatar, wounded it in battle, and ultimately drove it back. The failure allowed Jiang Shu to destroy more than a dozen Demon Race cities and kill over a million Demon Race soldiers, severely damaging Demon Race morale. 535 536

Appearance

The Demon Venerable's avatar is shrouded in black mist. When Jiang Shu's thunder-infused eye beam dispersed part of that mist, it revealed handsome features and golden-yellow eyes that had turned blood-red from instability. 535

Personality

The Demon Venerable is arrogant and initially treats Jiang Shu's evasions as an affront to his dignity. He seeks to capture or kill Jiang Shu not only to eliminate a dangerous enemy, but also to raise Demon Race morale. 531

He is highly covetous of Jiang Shu's opportunities, believing that obtaining them could allow him to advance further. 535 However, the avatar's consciousness is only a fragment of his severed soul and is affected by the Great Dao of Slaughter, making it prone to emotional instability. 535 536

After receiving news of Jiang Shu's killing of three Demon Lords, the Demon Venerable dispatches an avatar to pursue him across the Chaotic Demon Sea. 528 529

The avatar tracks Jiang Shu into an Abyss of Spatial Turbulence and engages him directly. Despite its superior realm and physical strength, it fails to prevent Jiang Shu from escaping. 531 535

Defeat of the Avatar

Jiang Shu exploits the avatar's incomplete soul and instability, using illusion techniques, a Demon Monarch corpse as cover, and a powerful hand seal to wound and drive it away. 536

The Dragon Race Demon Venerable is forced to reconsider Jiang Shu's threat after the avatar returns defeated. 536

Demon Race Counteroffensive
