Background / History

Jiang Shu died young from a serious illness in his previous life. After breaking through the Mystery of the Womb and awakening a special ability in his new life, he resolved to pursue Martial Dao alone, believing that only personal power could secure control over one's fate 1.

As a senior at Jicheng Fifth High School, he took a leave of absence to train the Horse Stance rather than follow the conventional academic path. He aimed to sense Blood Qi, enter a key university without the College Entrance Examination, and ultimately reach an Academy 1.

His early practice combined the Horse Stance with the One Bowl Water Method, a mental discipline that stilled his thoughts. The Panel in his mind tracked his attainments and preserved them permanently, allowing even foundational arts to accumulate into lasting progress 1.

Appearance

Jiang Shu is a tall, slender young man whose restrained bearing can make him appear ordinary despite his cultivation.

  • Long hair, at times described as falling over his shoulders 187.
  • A handsome face; he continued fighting despite receiving a deep claw mark across it 195.
  • Often wears exceedingly simple clothing 164.
  • After cultivating the Great Dream Sleep Dan Art, his spirit became so restrained that he seemed to meld naturally with heaven and earth 164.
  • His eyes can display silver-blue spatial ripples when wielding spatial power 589.

Personality

Jiang Shu is defined by an unusually firm pursuit of Martial Dao. He rejected comfort, wealth, fame, and social invitations when they conflicted with cultivation, maintaining the same discipline after becoming famous that he had shown as an unknown student 164.

He is calm under provocation and prefers decisive demonstrations of strength to petty disputes. When Wang Han tried to use rumors and school authority against him, Jiang Shu did not argue; he overturned the situation by revealing his physical strength and cultivation 19.

His ambition is tempered by responsibility. He repeatedly assists Xia Kingdom's martial artists, shares cultivation insights with Wang Yan, guides his family, and seeks an ideal in which “Everyone is Like a Dragon” rather than limiting his concern to a single nation 187 206 270.

He can also be calculating and ruthless toward enemies. He manipulated Liang Yuanzhou's resentment to enter the Liang Family's internal conflict, then killed him and assumed his identity after Liang Yuanzhou reached the Blood Exchange Realm 173 174.
