Background

Youji is an ancient rebel god who once betrayed the God Domain and lived alone in the cracks between planes for countless ages. The Divine Realm repeatedly tried to recruit, coerce, and confine him, but he rejected orthodox status and continued opposing its control over the heavens 134.

At first, Youji regarded Douluo World as a temporary partner rather than a home. During the Divine-Demonic War, he cooperated with Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong solely because the Asura God threatened all sides; he expected their alliance to end after the common enemy fell and still intended for the Dark Divine Domain to seek an opportunity to seize Douluo 119.

His outlook changed after witnessing Douluo's mortals and Demigods fight and die rather than submit to the Divine Realm. He intervened personally against the Wrath Main God, declaring that any force seeking to slaughter his companions would have to pass through him first 132.
