Book after book flew through Green's hands, their pages turning at an astonishing speed. He finished flipping through each one in less than two or three minutes. Anyone watching would never have believed he had read them.
In fact, Green hadn't read them. His Avatar merely served as a kind of recorder, capturing the contents through its eyes and sending them back to his body outside through a Mental Power connection.
Thirty minutes later, Green returned the book in his hands to the shelf. His face had turned ashen; he felt no joy at having recorded the knowledge.
Green swept his gaze around the Library. The first floor alone held dozens of stone bookshelves. It had taken him thirty minutes to record the books on just one shelf. Recording everything on this floor would take at least a day.
And that was only the first floor. Judging by its height, Green could easily tell the Library had at least three floors.
Recording even a fifth of the Library's contents would take three or four days. Green didn't know when the entire ruin would reconnect with reality, but it certainly wouldn't be twelve to fifteen days away.
"No choice! I'll have to risk it!" Resolve flashed in Green's eyes. The things in this ruin were too precious. If word got out after this expedition, he would never get a second chance to enter. The ruin was bound to spark a struggle among the major Schools.
His mind made up, Green immediately shifted his consciousness back to his body outside.
Beyond the ruin, Green rose to his feet inside a translucent membrane of light, determination in his eyes. He had no choice. The Puppet's abilities were limited; it couldn't use Mental Power to scan on a large scale and swiftly record all
