The Front Line

There was little time left before the passage opened, and the teleportation array was in constant use. Before long, it was packed with people.

A dazzling red and blue light flared, and the world spun around them.

Green's vision blurred. When it cleared, his surroundings had changed completely. Massive walls enclosed the teleportation array, leaving a patch of sky overhead like the mouth of a well. Sunlight struck the walls, casting a shadow over most of the array.

"Welcome to the rear base of White House Academy! Please come to the control desk and return your number tokens!"

The voice echoed around the teleportation array as soon as they landed.

Green returned his token at the control desk. Then he turned with a smile to a Grand Knight standing behind him.

"I'm Green. This is my first time here. Could you tell me about this place?"

As Green spoke, he flipped his hand, and a Magic Stone appeared in his palm.

The Grand Knight, clad in leather armor with a Longsword at his waist, froze for a moment. He quickly recovered, though. The man before him wore a white robe and held a position far above that of the Knights.

"Lord Green, I'd be glad to help!"

The Knight accepted Green's Magic Stone and spoke to him respectfully.

The Knight quickly returned his own number token to the Wizard Apprentice at the control desk, then led Green away from the teleportation array.

"Lord Green, you can call me Lowa. I've served here on duty many times, so I know a fair bit about White House Academy's base. Let me give you a general overview!"

Lowa spoke softly as he walked beside Green.

"It's fairly simple! Across all eight major powers, the front and rear are organized much the same way.
