Many creatures in the Wizarding World carried ancient bloodlines. Even some ordinary creatures had inherited the blood of immensely powerful lifeforms from the Ancient Era, but their bloodlines had completely degenerated, without a trace of their former might.

For Green, that was not a problem.

Since receiving his bloodline inheritance, Green had often studied the Chip's ability to manipulate bloodlines between making Potions, studying, and resting.

Drawing on the Soul School's knowledge, Green soon understood just how extraordinary the Chip's ability to alter his Genetic Runes had been.

According to the Soul School, the more powerful a lifeform was, the more complex its underlying structure became. Even an immensely powerful Sixth-Level Lifeform would not dare alter its own Genetic Runes.

Bloodlines formed naturally over vast stretches of time contained countless genetic structures. Altering them at random carried a 99.998% chance of causing bloodline degeneration, a one-in-a-hundred-thousand chance of leaving the bloodline unchanged, and a one-in-a-hundred-thousand chance of improving it.

Changing genes that seemed useless could have disastrous consequences.

With the Chip, Green could reconstruct the Genetic Runes of those bloodlines. The reconstructions might be incomplete, but with enough samples, he could restore the runes' functions, then fuse large numbers of them into a Synthetic Bloodline.

Synthetic Bloodlines were hardly rare in the Wizarding World. Bloodline Families often fused other bloodlines into their own to break their Bloodline Shackles, but the vast majority of attempts failed, sometimes even causing degeneration. A very few succeeded in breaking their shackles through bloodline fusion.

According to the Soul Academy, however, this merely raised the upper limit. The Bloodline Shackles still existed; mixing in another bloodline only barely circumvented the restriction. At higher levels, one set of shackles would become two, binding them even more tightly.
