The gray-brown trunks stood tall, their branches growing high above, while low green shrubs covered the ground. A faint white mist permeated the woods.
Green stepped across the dry leaves carpeting the ground, occasionally producing crisp cracking sounds as dead branches snapped beneath his feet.
Green could feel the moisture filling the air pat against his face, along with wisps of faintly discordant energy seeping through it.
"How much farther until we reach the Overlapping Region?" Green asked the Chip calmly.
[Ding! Beginning environmental scan! Matching Overlapping Region fluctuation values...]
On the Chip's blue interface, streams of data refreshed frantically one after another. The curve above was sometimes calm and sometimes turbulent.
[Ding! Current World Overlap fitting rate: 52%. Below 80%. The two worlds have not undergone actual interlocking. Entry method: drop transfer!]
The Chip quickly produced its analysis.
Green slowed his steps and looked at the result provided by the Chip.
"As expected, we're about to break free of the overlap. Only some unknowable higher-dimensional spacetime remains overlapped between the two worlds. Normal spacetime has already separated!" Green murmured.
"Search for the area with the highest degree of overlap!" Green continued commanding the Chip.
The lower the Overlapping Region's fitting rate, the more power was required to travel through it, and the greater the disturbance would be. Naturally, that did not suit Green's goal of returning discreetly.
Storm World was merely a way station, not Green's true destination.
Green had collected the coordinates of countless worlds. The reason he had ultimately chosen Storm World was that it was closest to Soul Hunter World. When he used the connection within his soul to open a World Passage, it would consume the least power.
