These geniuses always helped drive their entire worlds forward.
But calamity lurked within good fortune, and good fortune within calamity.
Such geniuses often propelled their worlds' eras forward by one level, or even several, causing the power of the entire world to surge in an instant. Yet the drawbacks were just as clear: relying on a single person to advance an entire world often threw it out of balance.
One person could never think of everything or account for every aspect.
Especially after those geniuses died, if their knowledge and wisdom were not passed down reliably, everyone else could only struggle to learn and catch up. They had no time to develop other fields, and could not advance the world's foundations.
As the ages passed, the world's entire system of power would gradually become beholden to that one genius, until its development turned grotesquely distorted.
Sigel's world was clearly a typical Malformed World. Ordinary soldiers were merely strong commoners, while Ascenders possessed Fourth- and Fifth-Level power. The gap between them was as vast as heaven and earth.

As the last book on the shelf behind Sigel closed, Green had finished memorizing the principles behind the entire Ascension Device.
Green looked at Sigel before him and smiled.
"Sigel, I've learned just about everything there is to know about the Ascension Device. Next, I'll teach you how to control Despair Force..."
Ignoring Sigel's delighted expression, Green immediately began explaining how to control Despair Force.
Far away, in another world, Sigel quickly composed himself and listened closely to Green's explanation.
